The galaxy is in flames. Chaos is in the ascendant across the stars. The Great Rift has split the holdings of the Imperium in twain, isolating entire sectors from the light of Holy Terra. But all hope is not lost. The Primarch Roboute Guilliman has returned from deathless sleep and appointed Commander Dante, lord of the Blood Angels, as Regent and Warden of the newly dubbed Imperium Nihilus. The Traitor Host of Horus Lupercal tightens its iron grip on the Palace of Terra, and one by one the walls and bastions begin to crumple and collapse. Rogal Dorn, Praetorian of Terra, redoubles his efforts to keep the relentless enemy at bay, but his forces are vastly outnumbered and hopelessly outgunned. Dorn simply cannot defend everything. Any chance of survival now requires sacrifice, but what battles dare he lose so that others can be won? Is there one tactical stroke, one crucial combat, that could turn the tide forever and win the war outright?

Publisher's Summary
Soon after word reached Terra of Horus' nascent rebellion, Mars fell. Rogue elements within the Mechanicum priesthood, stirred by the Warmaster's promises of independence and prosperity, turned against the Imperium and forced the primarch, Rogal Dorn, to order an impenetrable blockade of the Red Planet. Now it has become clear that the corruption has spread too deep and that more drastic measures must be taken if the Forge World Principal is to be reclaimed.
Calling upon the expertise of those who witnessed the so-called 'Death of Innocence' firsthand, Lord Dorn and Malcador the Sigillite consider their final solution - the complete extermination of all life on Mars.

Cybernetica, a book worth your time.
I thoroughly enjoy this novella titled cybernetica from the horus heresy series of warhammer 30k. Jonathan Keeble is a great narrator and excellent voice actor. He truly brings not only the characters but the entire story to life without forcing his view upon the book and hindering your imagination. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting an experience of a sci-fi univeese where the heroes don't always win and the good guy's are not all the seem.
