Publisher's Summary

My name is Ace Bissett, and I’m a paranormal detective who doesn’t believe in magic. Or at least, I didn’t, before I met them.

The day I inherited my aunt’s old house, everything changed. One moment, I was convinced that magic was a hoax. The next, I’m surrounded by four winged, fanged, ridiculously hot guys who are definitely not human. They insist that I'm the only one who can break the curse that binds them to the night.

I know I should run far, far away from this hot mess, but there's a connection between us I can't deny. I'm seeing things I can't explain and feeling things that don't make sense. The detective in me has never been able to resist a mystery, and this one is just begging me to dig in.

But all that will have to wait because there’s a new threat stalking my city. One with a taste for blood and bone, unable to be killed or captured by normal human means.

It’s a good thing I’ve got four new roommates to help me hunt them down. But even if I didn’t, I’d figure out a way. Because, I never give up. I never give in. And I always protect what’s mine.

Don't miss this delicious new reverse harem series. Get the audiobook today!

I loved everything about this book 100%

I have been waiting for the rest of the books in this series with baited breath! I give it 5 stars all around, and I love the voices and accents Adam Gold is amazing, I absolutely love his work. I'd buy all his pieces of work if I was rich. But I also really like the relationships she has with each of the guys, they're not just base desires but love, and I love that. I highly recommend this book and if you like this you'll love " The Dragons Gift" trilogy from Jasmine Walt and May Sage!!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book!

I cannot wait for the rest of this series! Everything about this book was great. Strong, independent, badass female lead? Yes please. For me the vampire baddies weren't too cliché or over the top. And the guys? Wonderfully written and interesting, them being Templar Knights was a nice touch. Also hot af sex scenes. I listen to books at work and I had to get up and splash some cold water on my face.

Mmm Gold's velvety, sexy voice is worth it alone!

Oh my gosh, what a treat to my ears...Adam Gold's voice!
I'm starting to lose my love for vampires and gain a newfound appreciation for gargoyles...
Hard bodies, strong hands, protective wings, ferocious chivalry... yum.

This book is shorter than my usual paranormal romance reading fanfare. Ace is tolerable as a heroine, but she needs to train, hone her skills, and stop getting into situations without thinking things through. Her "always gets her way" attitude is naïve. I had to cringe whenever she got tossed around like a rag doll. Despite all that, things look promising with the fire trick and she's only just starting.

As for the gargoyles, I think I love the twins the most: youthful, cheeky, and fun. Thomas is easily approachable, and Gilbert is sweet. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the amount of sex --have you not read reverse harem before? Still, I have to admit that I considered the scenes kinda tame and they lacked a certain *finesse.* I actually find the way that Thomas speaks to Ace sexier than the act itself. With his English accent, playful banter, and unabashed chuckles, I'm hooked.

The story could use more fleshing out though. Everything happens in just a week. Why the rush? I liked the interactions with the guys, them learning the perks of modern life, and us knowing more of their history. The mystery aspect was a bit weak. It felt like an afterthought, so that's why I rated it three stars. I really hope the rest of the series will get the same audiobook treatment as the first book, because I crave more! I could listen to the male narrator for hours...

Action packed

This is a good introduction to this series, and completely full of action. A witch that doesn't even know if the magical world and 4 hot men with a curse attached to them will capture your attention and keep it until the end.

What a difference 2 narrators make!

I enjoyed the story, although didn't appreciate that the main character, who is supposed to be the "best" detective, didn't see the obvious coming. But, that's minor. The narration, however, was fantastic. It makes such a difference when you have male and female voices, and Adam Gold was great with the different accents. Good narration just makes a world of difference!

Holy hot wings!

Please note that despite my below comments I do plan on listening to the second book when it comes out.
Early on in this book I was worried it would turn into a bit of a Christianity promotion and had the thought to give up on it there. But I kept with it and was surprised that I did enjoy it. I wasn't expecting much from the synopsis but what I enjoyed most was the magic and detective work not the romance, which was was I wanted from this book.
The men are cliche and there is no real logic to some things (someone who's used to food in the 12th century isn't going to love 21st century American pizza. I'm sorry but it's true.) I also had to wonder at the sex scenes. I mean the foreplay was hot, but there were moments where it just seems rushed. Almost 90% foreplay and only 10% actual intercourse. I don't know if it's just my own bias or if that's how it was ment to be written or if it's the authors own experience but I feel like there is a lot of waisted potential and it made me roll my eyes at times.
Like I said to start, I am keen for the second book to find out what she does with the house and how her magic develops.
