A mental health condition to be shared

This was good I learned a lot and grateful this story was shared. This crime needs to be told and shared.

I lived in Hereford during the time of the trial.

Bringing this horrible MSVP to light is something that needs to be addressed. Good story of this happening, sad but necessary to bring it to light.

Munchausen

This is a great story of the beginning documentation of Munchausen in the U.S. Who would think a mother would do this to their own child? So sad.

Hardly a must read/listen

I loved “If you tell” and “The Hive” by Olsen and looking at the books tagline I thought I was in store for another true crime nail biter. I think Olsen did a fantastic job of fleshing this story out and providing thorough detail but at the end of the day, it’s just a boring story. When I think true crime, I think murder and mystery—this could have been a dateline episode (if that), not a 50-some chapter read. I’m torn on Kevin Pearce’s performance too. His cadence and tone of Tanya and some of the other characters in the story seemed spot on but overall he sounds like a cute grandma or Frosty the Snowman and I would have preferred a different narrator.

Good narrator, story was too long

I love Gregg Olsen but this is my least favorite of his books. Narrator was good though.

Solid story, news-like narration

It seemed a bit repetitive but was definitely thorough and showed how difficult it is to prove Munchausen by proxy.

Overall ok, book cover misleading

The story was good. It was written well and told well. I just found myself wondering through the entire book where is the other murder and other family involved? The book cover clearly states “multiple murder” and how it destroyed “multiple families.” Well I listened to the entire thing and there was only one murder and the story focused around one family. Because of the misleading cover I was preoccupied the entire book wondering when the other murder and other family would be introduced into the story.

Good reading, interesting story to follow closely

Was an interesting story so sad to k is it was real. Very detailed so need to follow closely. Was read well, very matter of factor though (almost like a Dateline episode but with more detail.)
