Publisher's summary

Nora Whitmore has been through the ringer both professionally and personally. Now, her life is more than she ever thought it could be, especially with Kelli McCabe in it. The walls have come down, and she is open to new people and experiences.

Kelli McCabe watched all the broken pieces of her life come together. The situation with her family settled down, and she's right where she wants to be back at work and in Nora's arms.

For both of them, this quiet time is just the devastating calm before the massive storm hits and brings with it the violence of a vengeful enemy and the reality of drug abuse. The chaos surrounding them exposes old wounds and individual vulnerabilities that seem to multiply when they are together. Is it too much for them to withstand? Or is what they have strong enough to overcome it all?

Contains mature themes.

Disappointed

I really enjoyed this series and even though Abby Craden is one of the best narrators, it ruined the story for me. It wasn’t the same as before with Sarah Grant, I couldn’t get into it and barely made it through the book. Whatever happened with the bookings of the narrators was a shame.

Okay story, great performance

The switch to Abby as the performer is welcome. As usual she knocks it out of the park!

The story was better this time. More engaging that book 1. Still, it lagged at times. I'm on to book 3 and do recommend the book.

Such a change in character

I could almost believe a different author wrote this one, as the characters are so different. Nora is now a trembling submissive, completely dominated by an unrecognizable Kelly. Did Kelly turn into an unintelligent, completely violent and abusive man rather than a strong, smart, experienced police detective who has met her match in looks strength and capability on the job?
Cannot give any recommendation other than the outstanding Abby Crayden performance. I disliked this book as much as I really liked the first book, Blurred Lines.

The best story

My favorite story, and like for this story, I have listened to this more than three times and will listen to it again. KD williamson, great job, and again, absolutely love Abby Craden. KD williamson, please write more books like this, because these books are fabulous.

story is good

The story is good & so is the plot. However the preference needs work. When I listen to this book I feel like I'm listening to Det Aden Carlyle & Dawn Kelsey. instead of 2 totalaly different people

Good continuance

This sequel is perfect as a follow up. We get to know Kelli and Nora better. Nora opens herself to new relationships and allows Kelli in completely. Although Abby does a superb job as usual, I actually did enjoy Sarah Grant as narrator in the previous book and would have liked for her to have completed the series. Either way, I'd say this book is worth it and worth the credit. Enjoy.

Drama

Just too much drama and anger for me. I normally like flowed characters but it was just too much for me. I found Kelly to be way too annoying.
Abby Craden did a great job though. I don't think I'd have been able to finish it otherwise.

Good read

It was a bit dragged, sort of felt like the author was dragging the situation to make the look longer but because I was already attached to the main characters I still enjoyed it overall.

Amazing narration compared to the first book. I am glad the Author changed to Abby Craden. I can't wait for book 3.

Loved this, Abby Craden is BRILLIANT

I couldn't disagree more with the reviewer who preferred the reader of the first I instalment of this series. IMO The reader of the first book took some getting used to, and the book is a long way down my 'listen again' list for that reason.
HOWEVER, Abby Craden is brilliant here. I think this is one of her best performances, and I've heard a few... Yes, she reads loads of lesfic, has made a specialism of it, but that is because she's so good, so invested and puts so much emotional energy into her performances.

Because the performance is so good, it made me love the story and characters more, made me totally invested from start to finish. I cried, I laughed, I was moved for long periods. And it takes something special to make me actually cry whilst listening.

Story wise, this is the second story in this series, so it would make little sense without having read the first one... I wish I'd actually read the first one myself, rather than heard the audio book. But, this one follows on from the first, with the same characters. Their new relationship is tested and personal growth occurs... Hopefully that's not too spoilery ... Their relationship is written so beautifully and with an amazing intensity... Enhanced hugely by Abby's performance .... She really is a gift to lesfic audio books. There are some other great readers out there, but whilst there are still some shockers, I'm not going to complain about Abby getting all the lesfic gigs.
Good for her, and well done KD for writing such an emotionally honest and raw story.
Ten stars!
Ps, if you loved the reader of the first book... then, you might not like this one, normally I hate a change of reader mid series, but in this case, I think its a vast improvement.

One of the great stories beautifully crafted enhanced by Abby Craden’s performance.

Kelli and Nora take it to the next level. What I enjoy about these books, these characters is that we know they’re both struggling with how to make a new relationship work while family does family stuff. (Yes I meant that to be cryptic buy the books cause I’m not going to give away anything) you will never be disappointed in a KD Williamson story. Can’t wait fir the next Cops and Docs to be on audio.

Hmmm

Book 2 of Cops and Docs by KD Williams. It’s a continuation of Nora and Kelli’s story.

This story has a lot to do about Nora’s evolution as a person. Since she’s not the most open book person, we are privy to how she works out to be a more receptive lover, friend and human being in general. It’s nice when a book is not solely focused on romance. The subplot has a more intense theme as well.

I am enjoying reading this series. It has all the makings of a story that I would follow despite the number of continued stories the author comes up with like a soap opera, I’d be staying tuned no matter how outlandish the storyline turns out to be.
