Publisher's summary

The next heartwarming romance in this USA Today best-selling series proves it's tough to resist a sexy cowboy with a Texas drawl and heart of gold!

A wild cowboy with a big heart

Ever since losing his best friend in a motorcycle accident, Taggart Baker wants to make every moment count. No dare is too dangerous, no adventure too crazy for this cowboy. But after one bad brush with the law, he realizes it's time to ditch his hooligan friends and grow up. Now he's running his own ranch next to the Longhorn Canyon spread in Texas. Still, no one would ever call him tame.

Nikki Grady has worked too hard for her RN license just to throw it away for some reckless cowboy who shows up in her emergency room after a barroom brawl. But she can't help being drawn to Tag's sense of humor and those crystal blue eyes. The more time they spend together, the more she sees his good heart. But just as Tag seems ready to settle down for good, his troubled past comes calling - and this time he won't be able to walk away so easily.

Critic reviews

"Carolyn Brown is one of my go-to authors when I want a feel-good story that will make me smile." (Fresh Fiction)

"Brown's capable fourth Longhorn Canyon contemporary western romance...suggests that love can make even the baddest of bad boy cowboys want to settle down. Sweet, sexy romance and a strong heroine elevate the story. Fans of romance series filled with small-town charm and a cast of supportive family and friends will appreciate this installment and seek out earlier ones." (Publishers Weekly)

A very entertaining romance

My first book by Ms Brown, loved the characters and the in-depth storyline, as well as details of the area. I would have liked it better if their sex was as detailed, however, it was a very romantic story and well narrated by Ms Hatfield. Would recommend it. The audio cover says it includes a bonus story by Ms Rains, but there wasn’t one.

Really liked this story

Carolyn Browns stories always incorporate real life and this one dealt with the reality of mental ones L illness in the family and a patient. I loved Nikki's traditional values of dating. Tag was identifiable as the typical young man that been showing his posts but is ready to settle down. Nikki's internal struggle with her mother's lack of interest and love, the loss of both her brother and father at a young age, and finally learning to trust Tag's interest in her as being more than a 'notch in his belt.' I enjoyed Nikki's empowered woman role in taking down the escapee. That was epic.
I would have loved a touch more storyline with her father after all the buildup but enjoyed what there was of it.
Chelsea Hatfield did a good job with the narration.
Definitely recommend this book; another excellent Carolyn Brown book.

Great short listen

Love cowboy love stories. The story kept me hooked. The narrator almost lost me at the beginning because of the high voice but once I settled into the story it was fine. Will look for another book by Carolyn Brown.

FYI No bonus Short Story is in audiobook

Carolyn Brown's book is wonderful, as usual. Just don't expect that bonus story mentioned on the cover and in the title.
