Publisher's Summary

Two trained killers at a staggering altitude....

Raya Parker, the 14-year-old daughter of a senior US black-ops official, has vanished along the trail to Everest. Also unaccounted for are one of the loyal bodyguards assigned to protect her and an unassuming Nepali porter.

After a prolonged wait for their first contracted assignment, Jason King and Will Slater touch down in Nepal. They’re not exactly thrilled by the task - they assume it’s a routine opportunistic kidnapping. But Raya’s father, Aidan, has done brilliant work for his country, and if his family is at risk, he deserves the best.

Then their grip on the situation spirals violently out of control. Soon enough they’re deep in the throes of terror, battling savage hostiles and the brutality of the terrain itself, and they can’t figure out who the hell is behind any of it. As they ascend higher and higher on the long trail to Gokyo Ri, their energy saps, their bodies crumble, and panic intensifies....

What use is elite combat training when you can hardly breathe?

You scary man!

Our OCD black-ops operators/assassins are on their way to Nepal, India to retrieve a kidnapped daughter of a CIA officer. Their not happy, as they assume they are a poor fit for this type of mission. As we all know, what it does mean when you assume. Against a gruesome trek over the mountainous trail with incurred injuries, the pair continued on their mission. Will they be able to catch up to the kidnappers? As far as that goes, who is involved with the kidnappers? All involved thought it was either the bodyguard or the porter. Were they right, or was it someone else? This is a good story; lots of tension with plenty of action. I like the main characters although a bit OP and have a horseshoe embedded in their arses. Once again, Mr. Corkhill was awesome. There are many more books in this series and I’m tempted to continue. We’ll see.

G

I don't know why Kevin Kenerly has a hard Tim pronouncing words with a G ending but by the last 1/4 I was thinking of just stopping and moving on to another book!
Other than that his voice was pleasant to listen to.

Entertaining

The story is very entertaining and keeps the listener engaged throughout. The main characters are modern day supermen, but it’s still a good story.

King & Slater

Just finished Book 2, excellent story and great narration. I've listened to quit a few series. This is one of the best I've heard so far, can't wait to start the next book.

Ruined by the narrator

Good story line but I could not listen to the narrator. He reads very haltingly reading fast but breaking up sentences leaving gaps in a single thought. I tried, I really tried.

Action Packed

Loved it. The storyline was a whirlwind of action, very intense and kept you hanging on to your seat. The narrator did an outstanding job. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Ok

I got weary of the pages and pages spent on how grueling the mountains of Nepal are - it felt like the author was filling space because he couldn’t come up with enough pages of real material - it’s endless. The story could have been better to expand in some other actions by the heroes. The reader started driving me nuts with his hard ‘g’s’ at the end of words ending in ing. His gasps of breath at the end of each sentence also became very annoying. He did some different character voices but these reading habits really became overwhelming and nauseating.

Nothing is ever "happy ever after" !

It's great to hear a tale like this where people you think will see the end of the book DON'T

A Great Introduction

This book was a great introduction to the characters and the author. I loved the action and heart stopping excitement. Pure escapism and there's nothing wrong with that.

Great Adventure

I had never heard of the author before I read Weapons. This second book is much better although the first is good. There are quite a few cliches but maybe that is just the genre for you. This is one of those books you can't stop listening too as the action just keeps going. Now I have heard 2 I will certainly keep listening.

very good

I was a little apprehensive after the first book as some of the sections with heavy conversation were painful. Alot of he said, she said. Unnecessary with the main characters as you pretty much know their voices after a few chapters if performed well. Didn't have this issue with this one. Kudos for fixing that.
