Statistics show that 50 percent of what determines divorce is genetic temperament. And, if you are one of the 20 percent of people who are born highly sensitive, the risk of an unhappy relationship is especially high. Your finely tuned nervous system, which picks up on subtleties and reflects deeply, would be a romantic asset if both you and your partner understood you better. But without that understanding, your sensitivity is likely to be making your close relationships painful and complicated.

Could it be their high level of empathy, paired with an inability to guard against the dangers of that trait? In chapters on codependency and narcissistic abuse, Empath explores what can happen when empathy exists without boundaries, explains how to recognize when you’re in a toxic relationship, and provides suggestions for improving or exiting the relationship.

Publisher's summary
Confessions of a Sensitive Man was written for every man or boy that was told that they are too emotional. Masculinity isn't defined by how much you feel, sense, or experience emotionally. Twenty percent of the male population is highly sensitive, and this audiobook is a starting point for them to become self-validated.
In many ways, this audiobook was written by my older self for my younger self. It is with that hope that I offer this audiobook to younger highly sensitive boys and men.

Great insights into human nature
While ostensibly about sensitive men, this book to me was more about what it is to be human, truly human. how much of our programming and stereotypes is short circuiting society? If we begin to celebrate sensitivity instead of denigrating it, what would the human race begin to look like? Wonderful book and masterful read by Benjamin Fife.

In Soar Above, renowned relationship expert Dr. Steven Stosny offers a groundbreaking formula for building new, pressure-resistant habits.

Story
In The Upside of Your Dark Side, two pioneering researchers in the field of psychology show that while mindfulness, kindness, and positivity can take us far, they cannot take us all the way. Dead cats. That's the image many people conjure up when you mention curiosity. An image perpetuated by a dusty old proverb that has long represented the extent of our understanding of the term. This book might not put the proverb to rest, but it will flip it upside down: far from killing anything, curiosity breathes new life into almost everything it touches.

While the high of occasional wins can keep you going for a while, playing into the always-on, never enough hustle culture ultimately takes a serious toll.
