Seth Andrews idolized Rush Limbaugh. He listened to Glenn Beck. He read Ann Coulter. He watched Fox News. He was an evangelical Christian once tethered to right-wing media, which constantly warned of an attack on American values by liberals and secular humanists. Today, Seth is a liberal and secular humanist.

This audiobook explores the Fox News culture, which both reflects and informs American conservatism, shaping public opinion on important issues like religion, government, race, foreign policy, war, protest, LGBT rights, and the Constitution. It's an exposé of conservative media's "closed systems" which constantly feed on (and feed into) public outrage, ignorance, bigotry, and fear. It's also the story of one man's personal journey into a larger and better world.

Seth gives hope that our country can put aside it's divisive political discord and come together to do right by all its people. The history of right wing Christian Nationalism shows us that oppression does not win out over inclusion, and this book demonstrates that rational, logical, and reasonable debate can steer our ship straight. It is helpful that this comes in such an intellectual and thoughtful manner from an author well versed in each side of the debate.

If you love hearing Seth’s awesome voice and listening to his shows, you’ll LOVE this one. My wife is a Fox News atheist and Trumper (I’m still not sure how that happened). She loves Seth and was willing to listen to some of it. Although she goes from zero to sixty in 2 seconds with rage when you speak badly of Donald, she remained cool the entire chapter I played for her. This is really great for anyone. It’s not aggressive or offensive and definitely stated the truth. Great book Seth! I can’t wait for your next one.

The amount of knowledge and wisdom Seth Andrews brings to the table is astounding! This book is very logical in its approach and avoids using emotions as a tool for the truth. I enjoyed hearing both sides of the arguments in a fair tone. He doesn't bunch all conservatives and liberals in cookie cutter groups, its nuanced and people have reasons (justified or not) in what they believe in. A great book to look into the mind of both conservatives and liberals! Great book!

Very balanced
