Publisher's summary

In this sequel to Mechanical Failure, Captain Rogers, despite his best attempts to do otherwise, has become the acting admiral of the 331st Meridan fleet. His first task: worrying. A lot.

The rival Thelicosan fleet, under the influence of bad intelligence, a forbidden romance, and a communication officer with an eardrum injury, is about to break a 200-year-old nonaggression pact. They have offered a vague, easily misinterpreted message: "We're invading." Rogers isn't sure, but he thinks that's probably bad.

War is hell, especially when you've forgotten how to fight one.

A Great [EXPLETIVE] Ride

I listened to this on and off over the course of the last 36 hours as I begrudgingly prepared for finals week and it was no less wonderful than the first book in the series. This cast is so delightfully dysfunctional, and I will be tackling book three tomorrow!

Hilarious!

It was in every respect an improvement on an already funny, and overall great story!

Great for laughs

I laughed so hard at the first book that I had to read this one. There were multiple times I stopped the book just to savor a joke.

By Newtown's Apple!

Oh. My. Science. Who would have ever thought calculus and math jargon could be so funny?
In this second installment of the Failure trilogy, the absurdity of military life and politics play humorously and sarcastically throughout situations that are oddly relatable, even though the setting is futuristic and out of this world, literally.
Zieja has an incredible knack for satire. I'm truly looking forward to the third book in the series.

Hilarious

Quinn is the absolute best character. Somehow even funnier than the laugh out loud first book

Great book.

I loved the first book, this one wasn't quite as funny but it did have plenty of laughs and a good plot. Highly recommended.

Fun

This book and it's predecessor are fun, sudo military sci-fi. kind of like MASH meets Battlestar Galactica. Unfortunately, some of the jokes do get a bit repetitive, but it didn't take away from the story. The author does a good job with narration.

Gotta be better than the book

Siena reads his own material so well, with a sense of comedic timing and pace that is great to listen to, but may be easily missed on a page. Highly recommended! Can't wait for the next installation.
