A fantastic fantasy

The plot and characters are very well thought out. Great performance by the narrator though some of the occasional accents felt overdone. Love how the magic isn't exactly explained but given enough context where you can follow along.

A good start

I recommend is listening to the sample. My first impression of the narrator was that he has an accent that I didn't like but the more I listened the more I got over how he spoke. I'd also like to say there is almost no lit-rpg aspects in contrast to most of Void Hearld's other works. so no stat windows at all but his class does give him certain strengths. Robin has to experiment to figure out what his powers do. All in all I say this book laid all the groundwork for a great series. There was world building and a steady introduction to how magic interacts with the world and how the heros foes operate and I'd say I'm invested in where the story will go next.

An Intriguingly Beautiful Tale

I was skeptical going in, but this book rapidly made me a believer. I am particularly hard to please on narration. However, the narrator of the story added so very much to a tale already immensely interesting and entertaining. It’s refreshing to stumble upon such a uniquely written fantasy novel. The characters are well defined, the magic system is unlike anything I’ve read before, and the way all of these elements flow together is just plain awesome. I started the book as just a time killer. A story to play in the background as I went about my day. But, the darn thing is so good, I can’t get any work done without stopping to listen! I’m so glad that I found this author, narrator, and of course, this particular book. Already looking forward to the other works from both parties. If you like a great story with the narrator perfectly suited for the feel and flow of said story, do not miss this gem!

Quite Enjoyable

Good world building, storytelling, and the author is very good at connecting the dots throughout the story to give it a greater over arching feeling. Look forward to the next book.

Great idea

The idea of a merchant as a major hero class is intriguing. It’s an area seldom explored in games or narratives.

Take my money funny French man!

Another straight banger from this author! I’ve been advertising this guys books to all of my friends, and they started picking up some of them! Honestly, this one was fantastic even though I was a little, wary at the start of it, thinking that it was going to be just another generic book. It was fantastic all the way through, and I loved it. Please make more! (Give to me more perfect run plz!!!!!!! I swear I’m like half of this guy’s cash flow)

Book has a super interesting premise and by time Robin gets his hero class I❤it!!!

Ohhhh man the book started with a really interesting beginning and I was immediately sucked into the storyline and by time Robin the MC, gained his hero class I absolutely loved the book! Maxime J Durand wrote a tight tale about Robin, and several other heroes that he located on the way to Snowdrift as he was answering to the final behest of his parents all he needed to do was spread their ashes so they would be released back into the ground in their home town to start all over again. And what he found was city deteriorating at a prodigious rate, by a blight. The city that Robin grew up in, and he isn't gonna let that happen, not on his watch. But before they can control the blight they'll half'a kill the demons that have already moved in!
So go ahead and grab the audiobook. And follow Robin, as he and the rest of the heroes face and overcome the challenges... hopefully they'll be able to stop the incursions and eventually save the city! Like I said Maxime J Durand writes a nice tight story! And Eric Jason Miller is just the guy to narrate it for us!
