Regina calls off her wedding at the last minute—she can't marry a man she loves but isn't in love with. Unfortunately, the only man who fits that description is Buck. After their one and only kiss years ago, he turned tail and ran, leaving her confused, heartbroken, and wondering what might have been.

A few days after retiring from the military, Buck receives an unexpected inheritance—a ski resort in his hometown of Largo Ridge. It solves the problem of what to do next, but it also forces him to confront his PTSD and the biggest regret of his life—Regina.

For six years, his best friend's sister has been out of sight but never completely out of mind. Now, they're both back in Largo Ridge, and the attraction between them is becoming impossible to ignore.

As old feelings resurface and new possibilities emerge, Buck must decide whether he's finally ready to fight for the woman he's always wanted. But after years of unanswered questions and a broken heart, Regina isn't sure she's willing to take that chance again.

Does Buck have the courage to claim the future his heart has always wanted? And will Regina let him?

I usually love the narrator duet, but even they seemed flat in this book. I’m not saying it’s bad but it wasn’t that great. Should be in the plus catalog and I could’ve gotten it for free from another source. I wish I would’ve checked. I’m sure it’s a series, so I’ll be sure to try to find the other stories elsewhere.

Fell flat for me

The two narrators are new to me but they did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life. It was easy to sit back and imagine being in the story. Of course, Samantha writes great stories to start with!
