Must be scam reviews

Can't believe I thought the reviews on this page were genuine. This "book" is a total mess, chapters are out of order, introductions happen mid paragraph, and the narrator quality varies wildly between the two I heard before giving up. Don't waste your credit on this

Good for therapists and students!

Classic must have for anyone interested in CBT. I'm a therapist working with severe and perisistant any mental illness including psychosis and I recommend his book often. This book is a great guide to practicing and learning.

nothing new for the experienced

It's more of beginner book for someone who has never dealt with anxiety or depression. If you already have spent years of your life with meds, therapists, meditation and every other trick, sorry but this book will disappoint will be of little help. I found myself skipping through entire chapters because a lot of it was just general info.

Really good book

Very listenable and I started treating myself right away after the first few chapters. It is an excellent treatise on the subject. Finally I know what CBT is and I can use it on my patients and on myself. Now I give myself more permission to turn negative experiences in my life into a positive power that helps me grow and see the good in all that happens to me. Seriously. But you need to want to be positive. Life is hard and I can see how some of us may not want to get over a passive negative

Absolutely excellent

I’m a therapist and bought this as a refresher for the CBT modality. I appreciate that it listens kind of like a self-help book, which makes it easier to translate for my clients. Easy to listen and follow.

Highly recommend

This is definitely worth the listen. It has some great practical tips on how to actively improve your thinking. From what S.M.A.R.T. goals are and how to set them, to actively working on the weak points we all have in our personalities. I can appreciate the real-world examples. I would have like to hear more about using CBT around limiting beliefs outside of a clinical setting because I think there's potential for application in varying aspects of life. I find with listening to books, I need to put it on 2x speed to stay actively engaged. All in all, this was a great introduction to CBT and it's spurred me to pick up more books on it.

Our Brain is So Powerful

I find this book insightful. Not many people understand depression or other mental conditions. For people who suffer these conditions, it is hard to find ways to cope. I myself deal with anxiety and stress. I do not know how to manage my thoughts and feelings well. This book really helps for people like me who are seeking help. It is about time to have a book that truly understands and explains the importance of careful and mindful thinking.

Great Book for CBT therapists

This book is a great manual for therapists who use CBT. The book teaches therapists how to strengthen and/or repair the therapeutic alliance, how to identify, evaluate and modify automatic thoughts, intermediate beliefs and core beliefs. The biggest strength of the book is that it helps therapists structure and pace each session alongside providing a wide array of interventions for almost all possible situations. I will certainly be referring back to this book throughout my career. Thank you Author!

Fantastic listen and Pivotal insight.

This is the fundamental authority in the realm of CT. For adept listeners looking for insights of CBT, this is a great tool. I would suggest pairing this book with individual studies and meta-analyses of CT's effectiveness in different mental health realms. Top university clinical programs in mental health research and instruction utilize this book.

AWFUL - a complete swizz!

Not what it says on the cover at all. Only one short chapter on CBT.
