Haunted Housewives

Loved it, can't wait to hear or read Sower's next book. I appreciate her ability to develop characters personalities very quickly through colorful details. I love the suspense built over the course of each ghost story.

Ghoulishly addictive

I could not stop listening to this mesmerizing story, and it ended way to quickly. Now I'm hooked. Told with such believability by the author, that I often found myself gasping outloud, nodding in agreement and looking over my shoulder!! A must-read for any ghost story-lover, and Swellesley resident. Liz Sower, please write another book soon!!!

Great podcast and even better in novel form.

My wife got me hooked on the podcast. This was a neat and tidy rehashing with some great new details. It takes a lot to keep my attention and it speaks to Liz’s quality as a author/narrator that even though I largely knew the story I listened to it straight through on my long flight. Can’t wait for the next one.

might as well not

it's a good story. I enjoyed it alot. just one major problem. other than Claire's thoughts at the begining of the chapters, there's not much new here. a few little additions here and there sure and a cleaner recording but it is almost word for word what was already on the podcast. I read this book expecting some sort of conclusion to the story. I thought Liz would give us some information on what exactly Claire and Tom would do but instead it leaves off with an open almost cliffhanger like vibe. overall I'm pleased with the story and if you're not into listening to the podcast then this is a good one off version of it but i really do think you might as well listen to the podcast and you can prolly either skip the book or just listen to the parts you havent heard at the starts and near ends of each chapter. I love Lizs podcast so I hate to write a review like this but I also have to be honest. I love her work but the podcast version of this provides way more context and alot of the same narrative just without small tidbits like how it affected Chris and Claire's thoughts.
tldr: its fine for extra context on the podcast but ultimately didn't deliver much new content.

I’ve listened to the authors podcast and she is a wonderful story teller. Her voice is soothing and draws you in to want more.

Love The Podcast! Spooky & Thought-provoking

Whenever I listen to Ghost In The Burbs, I'm transported to Boston stepping on damp orange leaves and following Liz through this complex, scary, and very realistic stories. I was always more curious about Claire's story, it lingered like smoke in the air or spilled wine on a white top.
This story was a wild ride & I highly reccomend it

As a huge fan of Ghost in the Burbs, coming across Claire’s story in audible form, read by none other than *THE* scribe herself? I was in heaven. Liz paints a horrifyingly realistic picture of the darker side of the Swells.

I LOVE this book. I listened to it in one sitting. (well pausing it when my family needed something...) I listened to your podcast as well in like 4-5 days from the very beginning. It's so awesome to hear this all together. At times I had the exact reaction you did to the experiences your neighbors/friends/witches had.
Thanks for the scare Liz. I know this will be a repeat audible and of course your podcast.
