Publisher's Summary

Every hundred years, tradition dictates that all eligible females in Sweetwater assemble for the choosing ceremony. Two vampire kings have separate territories within the surrounding countryside. Both are eager to pick their future brides. What a waste of her freaking time. Tanya is among the many women at the choosing ceremony. As far as she's concerned it's an outdated, sexist event and if it wasn't mandatory she so wouldn't be here. It's not important that the two males are ridiculously rich and handsome. Deep down she knows a plain Jane like her will never be picked by one of the kings anyway. Many of the women in the town square are stunningly beautiful and model thin. Most seem enthusiastic about being a queen even if it means being mated to a blood sucker, which suits her just fine.

Imagine her surprise though when King Brant sets his sights firmly on her. Once a vampire king has decided, there's no going back. But her home is in Sweetwater. Being forced to live among the vampire species... big gulp... forced to mate with a vampire... is not what she had in mind for herself. Maybe she can convince him to let her go, to pick again. If not, she'll have to find a way to escape his - very muscled and rather delicious - clutches. Contains mature themes.

Love this written series

I have read every book of this series and listened to a couple others, was happy when this came out on audio. However the narrator is not as good as the two who voice the other books. Very disappointing. The voice was uneven and at times lacking inflection. The voice was distracting and didn’t do the book justice.

We all know why you came...wink wink

Sure, it's not the best story ever but it got the job done. The narrator was great for the most part. It was only in some battle scenes that I noticed what others were saying about robot voice. So stop now if you don't want spoilers because I want to talk about my opinion. Realistically this is unreal. Not just because there were vampires but because of the relationship. It's unfair to ask two guys to be with you and expect them to only want you. Seems selfish. She also tried to come across as I'm not that sort of girl but as soon as it came to the sex scenes I'm like hohoho. I do kind of wish she would have picked one. Preferably Zane. but I guess this book was just written for the vampire sandwich and not really the story or characters so yeah...if you want to read a vampire sex fantasy you're in luck

A trashy romance novel read by a sassy robot

Seriously half the time I was trying to figure out if it was a real person reading this or if they just loaded the book into some computer program. the narrator only had emotion in her voice when she did the voice of Tanya or the vampire kings. It's incredibly noticeable when she does other female vampires. Which would have been over looked if her voice wasn't so mechanical when giving exposition.

Books like this are the reason there's a stigma with reading romance novels. I of course use that term very loosely with this book. You tell some one you like reading romance novels and they think "Oh, you like to read porn?" This book supports those thoughts. Tanya started out so strong willed then ended up a crying mess half way into the book. I am probably not even going to finish listening. Also the word pu**y (Don't know if it's okay to put that word in a review) should not sound like it has an o in it. I inwardly cringed every time it was said.

Just Another Smut Book

Unmemorable characters and very similar to every other supernatural smut book. The heroine starts out like oh no I wont be apart of this weirdo sex stuff and less than a day later she's all like oh no I love them. Of course she's got no family and like one friend. Nothing special in my opinion.

Overall okay

It was a good story is why the four stars but it need a little more of something. I gave the performance a three stars because I got lost in the story some times. I think she was trying to do voices for each character. She only did it sometimes and then other times she used the voices for other characters for different people. However she had a smooth reading.

Uneventful

I thought it was uneventful, once you think something is going to happen it’s as if the story digressed. I wish the ending would have been as exciting as the beginning. The plot was great in the beginning but fell through in the end as their was nothing following the climatic point. Lost interest towards the end.

loved the book but needed to be longer

really enjoyed the book . the story line wasn't overly complicated but kept you wanting more . however I don't think 9 hours of audio for 1 credit is a good price

mostly great

I really enjoyed the story. I liked where it went and thought it was a nice change to the usual story. I didn't however love the narrator. She was a bit flat and sometimes talked a little like a computer eg. siri. Apart from that it was quite enjoyable.

this was the hardest book to get through ever

this is the most fickle heroine I have ever read! she thinks 1 way but does the opposite.. the title should have the called the insatiable chosen.....I was frustrated nearly all the way through. what kept me reading was the plot....it had a good line and I kept reading to see if my assumptions were correct....it didn't sit well with me safe to say I'm not a reader of the direction this book took.
Her characters showed depth and intrigue but quickly faded to change, concede, or become completely sex induced.
it took forever to finish with scenes and thoughts changing constantly.
not a fan and will be returning
