A DINNER TO DIE FOR:
When a new restaurant with a starred American chef opens in Cherringham, it seems the Spotted Pig has a worthy rival. But a series of disturbing incidents turns that rivalry into something dangerous - perhaps even fatal. Jack and Sarah get involved and soon discover dark secrets about the new chef Anna... Can they uncover what is really happening before both restaurants go belly-up?

THE DROWNED MAN:
Accidents happen to Charley Clutterbuck. Always just scraping by, living on his ramshackle boat, not above the dodgy deal here and there... So when his body is found floating down river, accidental drowning seems the logical conclusion. But Charley's pal Ray thinks it's murder. And when Jack and Sarah get involved... they find themselves facing an unexpected danger as they uncover the strange truth.

THE GENTLEMAN VANISHES:
Bernard Mandeville loves trains. Every Sunday, the elderly and frail Bernard, in perfect attire, purchases a ticket on the Great Cotswold's Steam Railway, takes a seat in First-Class and revels in a journey from the past. But on one particular Sunday, in the midst of that short trip, the impossible happens. Bernard vanishes without a trace...

The family reaches out to Sarah and Jack who must make their own remarkable journey on the rails... to track down the vanished gentleman!

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and - most recently - the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of "DCI John Barnaby" in "Midsomer Murders" and "Jim Riley" in "The Life of Riley". He is also known for his film roles in "The Nativity", "Sorted" and "Son of Rambow". In 2012 Dudgeon starred as "Norman Birkett" on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

Better and better

This series just gets better with every installment. It's the epitome of a "cozy." Every bit as enjoyable as watching an episode of Father Brown or Midsomer Murders and the narration by Neil Dudgeon is an absolute treat! There are occasional minor logic flaws (such as the police being very lassaiz faire regarding the disappearance of an extremely wealthy gentleman) but we can't have those pesky officials getting in the way of our intrepid sleuths, can we now? I'm always a little bit sad when the story ends and I have to wait for the next one. Long live Cheringham! Oh and Jack ... for heaven's sake, kiss the girl!

Better and Better

These stories are fun, the reader is great, and each time I’m surprised at the outcome. The authors spin a good tale and I love all the characters. I can’t believe I’ve already finished 30 stories!

Favourite Cosy Mystery Series

Headline says it all! I wish Lubbe would record these in English a bit faster. I may have to learn German!

Cherringham- A lovely place to spend some time

This is a lovely little series of mini-mysteries with well-drawn characters, and interesting plot twists.
I hope this series continues: like spending an afternoon with a dear friend.

An addictive mystery series!

The Cherringham mysteries continue to be engaging stories with characters of which I have grown quite fond. I almost expect that if I were to visit England, I could go to the Cotswolds, find a town called that Cherringham, see Sarah’s business downtown, and then walk along the Thames to find Jack’s barge. He and Sarah would be there with martinis, grilled steaks, and Riley at their feet.
I am a fan of Nathaniel Parker’s narration for the Mydworth and Bunburry series, so I was not too excited to have a different narrator. Therefore, I delayed starting Cherringham until I had finished all of the episodes available for the others. I am now a Neil Dudgeon fan; he is perfect for this series. He is Jack. His does the New York accent very well, though I must say he narrates the voices of the native English characters pretty well, too!
My only frustration with this series is that Jack and Sarah have not become a couple. I know this isn’t a romance series, but they have worked together for several years and are great together. There could even be a mystery with a kidnapped florist or caterer or something for the wedding! (I am reading these in order, so I apologize if I am unknowingly including a spoiler here for future episodes!)
Episode 30, the final one on this recording, is one of my favorites. It is an intriguing mystery and no one dies!
I hope you enjoy these short, engaging mysteries as much as I am.
