Amazing narration of a fabulous story!

Kudos to Stina Nielsen who did an amazing job narrating this audiobook edition!! WOW! Her pronunciation of the Dutch words were spot on and that is not an easy task!! This is the first narrator I have encountered that was able to accomplish this. The story was amazing and the spiritual themes woven throughout were so encouraging!! I always love Lynn Austin's books and Nielsen just made this all the more enjoyable!! Highly recommend this book!!

A Blessing to Hear!

Lynn Austin is easily becoming one of my favorite authors! The words within the story and the grim history told are so important to remember. Lynn Austin Does an amazing job capturing this momentous era in history from the perspectives of three women. Normally I like to listen to my audiobooks over a few days or even weeks, to really stretch out the story. But I binged this story in one weekend, because I was so captivated by the characters in the story and the workings of God’s love.

Such a blessing to hear this book. Thank you Lynn Austin!

Loved this book!

I was captured by every chapter and the narration was so intense that it felt like I was there living the pain and suffering of each of these families as they went through the years of war, loss and love. Excellent

Did not disappoint.

I was so excited when I saw that Lynn Austin had a new book coming out. I've lostved every one of the many I've read.
This book was spectacular. The reader is outstanding. There were times I had to walk away from it because of the intense subject matter. I hated the ugliness of the the history this covers. Lynn went just far enough with the story to give a true representation of the times without allowing the horror to be overwhelming.
The characters learn and grow, teaching many lessons to the reader/listener throughout the book. Lynn always includes wonderful spiritual truths without being preachy.
I was begging her throughout the story to let there be a happy ending. I needed to keep a tissue nearby to handle the strong emotions that were stirred.
Lynn does detailed research for her books and it was obvious in this one. Magnificent read.

Will always be a favorite!

This is one of those books you will never forget. the strength one finds in adversity is amazing. We are meant to be free and live ... how well the author brings this to light and to life. Immerse yourself in a wonderfully narrated.story of people who feared, who were brave, determined, persevered in terrible hardship, deprivation, and loss. Peoples' indomitable spirits of courage, survival, compassion and love will challenge you to do better or build on the strengths you already possess.

Not only was this a great story, but so full of history ..Amy heart goes out to the Jews God's people for all the had to endure at the hands of such monster s.

Excellent in every way!

Lynn Austin never disappoints but certain stories grip a person's heart more profoundly. This story is one of those special ones for me. I thought long and hard if I could or would sacrifice my safety for others? I hope I would ... In some parts of the book, I was breathless feeling the fear, the anger and deep sorrow. At other times I was weeping. Horrified by the inhumanity of this war -- of all wars thinking of Ukraine even now. Sadly, evil is still with us. The narrator for this book, Stina Nielsen, brought the story to life. She breathes life into the characters. Her heart and talent are truly exceptional. Well done and thank you both! I'll remember this story forever.

Outstanding Book!!!

This was such a lovely story, I had to make myself go to bed and turn the Book off! The only thing I did not agree with the author on was the fact that people die and go to heaven when the Bible clearly states that the dead rest in their Graves until Christ returns. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18.). Other than this, I TRULY enjoyed the book!😇
