We’re all searching for contentment. Whether it's in relationships, families, jobs, finances, or something else entirely, we all want to be happy and fulfilled. And yet, all too often we find ourselves disappointed with what God has given us. But the apostle Paul says that he learned the “secret” of being content in any and every situation. Is this level of contentment possible for believers today? In this immensely practical book, Erik Raymond teaches us what contentment is (the inward gracious spirit that joyfully rests in God's providence) and how we can learn it through the same Holy Spirit who was in Paul. Wisely and winsomely, this book helps us discover the key to contentment, encouraging us to trust in God rather than our circumstances—no matter what life brings our way.

Enjoyed wisdom of having Christ be the source of all good things in this life. By knowing Jesus and living for Him find contentment in midst of changing world, churches, families, finances, etc.

Sometimes it felt repetitive or examples were not very accurate, but the heart of the message rang true and gave practical, meaningful ways to live more content today.

My Husband has been on a search to ask himself what does it look like for him to be content? He said this book was very helpful and that he wishes it incorporated more Orthodox and Catholic perspectives (or even Coptic and Asian/ Middle Eastern/Syrian Christians for cultural expansion and viewpoints) to balance out the mostly western Puritian and Evangelical Prostetant foundational perspectives (or said another way even add counterpoints to how comparitive religions may seek contentment in contrast or parallel to Christendom for an even fuller view of contentment and Envy playing out) but ultimately he thinks it is a vital message for our "discontented age". This messages audio is worth investing into a second edition for a different voice actor. He often listened to the content between 1.25 -1.75 because the performance was hard to listen to and found it to slow and there was not enough emphasis or passion put into the words for the severity and importance of the topical message. overall he is glad he got it and he recommends it to others.
