Excellent

Well worth listening to! Practical and encouraging. It is the gospel preached over and over that the church needs to hear again and again! That is what is offered in this book for the regular, everyday believer.

Lacking the writing ability and performance

While the content is good, the author lacks the ability to keep my interest. I do not expect to be entertained, but I do expect writing that holds my attention. On the other hand, it might be the reader’s style that resulted in having to pay closer attention. He lacks dynamics in his reading style. Good material, but the writing and reading could improve in my view.

Excellent Encouragement

Listened to the audiobook on the drive back from my sister's house in South Carolina yesterday. It was perfect - perfect length and perfect content.

As a Jesus follower of almost 40 years, the faith journey has had many ups and downs, dusty dry desert days, mountain peaks of encouragement and refreshment, flames of passion and intense worship, floods of sorrow and doubt, waves of conviction and guilt, etc. You name it and I have experienced it. Jared's book is encouragement - a great reminder of Whose I am; that even when I am in a spiritual struggle, God is there. His Holy Spirit is always with me to encourage, lift up, pray for and with me, to love me, to guide me, to give me life. I know this and yet I forget it at times.

Yet I believe this book would be an excellent gift for new followers of Jesus, too. For the person beginning their journey of faith in Christ, this book would be an excellent explanation of who the Holy Spirit is and how He can/will shape their life as they grow in their faith.

The narrator was good. I would have preferred to hear the author read it.

I highly recommend this book.

I Am Bill!

Once again Jared Wilson gets down to the nitty gritty of the everyday life of the aspiring Christian. Jared's characters are ragged, worn, flawed, but yearning, wanting to be filled with the Holy Spirit but the world keeps pulling them back, keeps pulling me back. The narrator expresses Wilson's words with such sincerity and empathy. Moving. You get the sense that he feels it too. God bless this wonderful project for our Lord Jesus.
