Beautiful Explanation of a Powerful Tool

I loved the explanation of centering prayer and how it came about and has roots in scripture. I really enjoyed this introduction and hope to incorporate it more into my daily life.

this was my first book around the subject of centering prayer. I have to admit I was not a fan of the voice of the narrator. but pushing past that, I enjoyed learning more about this contemplative tradition. this is probably a book I will need to buy so that I can actually take notes on the pages of it. as someone who is new to the practice, I found it helpful to understand more of the history and intention of centering prayer.

Excellent information/poor narration

Loved the book but found the narrator to be very annoying and mechanical. Made my way through but will not be able to listen to book again. Centering prayer is an extremely valuable tool to anybody on a path.

A terrific summary of Centering Prayer and really practical tips and techniques. The 12 points in the epilogue were also a wonderful bonus

Can I give it a ZERO rating? NOT A CHRISTIAN BOOK!!!

This was NOT a CHRISTIAN BOOK!! Mystical? YES! Inner Awakening? YES , she would say.. SCRIPTURAL??? NO!!! Even she admitted it about half way through!!! No scriptural basis!! This is a dangerous book in my opinion. To empty one self goes against the scripture, where it tells us to be filled with HIS word, to MEDITATE on HIS WORD, not empty oneself of each thought!! This is completely in scriptural. I could go on and on about how unscriptural it is.. READ YOUR BIBLE and meditate on that instead of this book for sure is the best advice I can give and save yourself some money!!

Great book - I think the reading must be done by a computer. It ruins the whole book. Awful!!!!!
