In this #1 New York Times bestseller from the world’s most popular storyteller, two killers-one operating in America, one in Europe, believe Alex Cross is the only worthy opponent in the deadly game each has planned.

Inspiration for the heart-pounding Prime Video show, Cross.

Gary Soneji, a dying prison escapee, is looking for revenge on Cross, while another insane killer is pursued by Thomas Augustine Pierce-a brilliant and relentless detective who may even be better than Cross. As the bodies pile up, and Cross is nearly murdered in his own home, the game of cat and mouse leads to one final trap. . .

The body count is high, the tension the highest, and the two killers on the loose are watching every move their pursuers make. Who is the cat, and who is the mouse? What and where is the final trap? And who survives?

I have heard some bad narration but this takes the case. Very choppy and fake. Love the Cross series but I am greatly disappointed in the acting. Thank god the actors get better in later series.. I don't think I could stand this again.

Holy Overacting Mr Cross

The narration needs work. In my opinion, the narrator needs to practice trying to speak as other genders and ethnicities. It was quite unpleasant to listen to.

The voice acting is very bad. I didn't think any of the voices fit the characters. the story itself is lackluster and there is no detecting or investigating really. it just seems made for drama effect and that's not what I want from a detective novel, especially Alex Cross.

Good book.. but the narrators were awful. Think about re doing the narratoring. The story was good and I'm loving the Alex Cross series.

The Narrator

Of course I started with Along Came a Spider, which was great! I have tried to hold on with the following books and my biggest complaint here would be the narration of the books. Did anybody think to ask the author how to pronounce the characters names? They are different in each book. it’s also annoying that they’ve used different narrators with each book. This particular book was awful to listen to. The narrator in my opinion was not very good sometimes cringe worthy when he was doing the children’s voices. He also couldn’t pronounce words correctly in some instances. Gyro and Nissan come to mind, You’ll know when you listen to the book! I’m debating on getting the next book in the series. The writing is good, although it has yet to be as good as the first book.
