Publisher's Summary

This is the first novel in a series of Cookie Club Cozy Mystery novels.

After losing her husband, Beatrice thought her days of adventure were over, but then she meets a handsome, debonair man who turns out to be a conman and murdered days later. Armed with her two quirky best friends and a sarcastic, handsome police detective, Beatrice must solve the murder mystery before the crime gets too close for comfort!

Case of the Strawberry Cream Stabbing is the first of these cozy mystery new releases.

There is absolutely no sex, gore, curse words, or cliffhangers in these murder mystery books. This is an easy listen about a retired school teacher and amateur sleuth who lives in a retirement community filled with colorful personalities.

If you like cats and wise-cracking parrots, you'll enjoy these cozy mysteries. Although this book is part of a cozy mystery series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

great who done it

great little who done it good characters, nice pace easy to follow, the narrator use of tone and unusual voices made the book and characters seem somewhat older than it really is. this would put me off listening if the series continues

Cream puff murder

Sorry this wasn't for me. I found the characters annoying and didn't really like them. The mystery side only really had two suspects so no twist or surprise as to who the killer was. Also I don't know why the author choose to have a male narrator as the story was based around three ladies and even though he tried hard to make it enjoyable I think it would have play better with a female. The story line with the missing cat add a fun side to the plot and there was a few funny moments too. When Beatrice's date doesn't show she is appalled to find out he was a womanizer and she wasn't the only date he had made. But that was no reason to kill the man. However the police are quick to believe it of her friend who is found standing over the body covered in blood, she to had been seeing him. Beatrice is quick to come to her friends defence despite the lies being told and when he cat goes missing she vows to free her friend from prison and find her cat because she can't stand to lose anyone else. As I said the narrator wasn't right for this story but he did try hard giving the characters very different voices some a bit to high pitched and talked clearly and very precisely so was easily understand able. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
