Very atmospheric & unique!

The dramatization lent a really interesting perspective to the scenes that I really appreciated - it was very different from a typical audiobook, but once I got used to the format it was awesome!

Outstanding!

This haunting vampire story is absolutely brought to life in this Audible version! I was absolutely captivated and hardly wanted it to end. Carmilla is one of the best vampire novels ever written and the cast of this production honors it beautifully.

Great version of a classic horror story

I'm a sucker for classic vampire stories, of which this one is a fine specimen. Curious and haunting little mystery with all the tragedy and sexuality that once was associated with the vampires. Audio dramatisation is excellent, really enjoyable. It was hard to pause listening, and even when I had to, I found myself thinking of the story, eager to hear the rest of it.

Not bad just not my thing

I suppose for a lover of history and/or the era of history in which this story takes place, this is a fine book but not exactly what I enjoy. Nothing bad to say here necessarily, the speech was rather dated and the accent at times was hard to understand, but as a period piece that's to be expected. Not displeased to the point of wanting a refund, however it did take me quite awhile to finish it. Indifferent is the word that comes to mind.

Precursor to Dracula

Sheridan Le Fanu was a great friend of Bram Stoker and although this story was written long before Dracula, it is easy to see that it influenced Stoker. Great story

woaw what a story and narration

woaw what a story and narration! i were interested in the book because it is a vampire book before Dracula. then i saw David Tennant in this version and must listen! i were surprised by how good it is, and not drags out for no reason. nicely paced.

Classic done right

One of the original vampire books, predates Bram Stoker, and Anne Rice uses a similar flair.

Like I wasn’t going to love a lesbian vampire story

I loved everything about this and the performance was exceptional! I can’t believe it took me so long to read Carmilla.

I loved it all magnifique! I couldn't stop listening to it, I was addicted, so worth it.
