Need book 4 already!!

Book 3 in the Shadowblood Souls series finally gave us some answers we have be longly awaiting haha, particularly pertaining to Griffin, the supposedly lost member of the group who surprised us at the end of book 2. I wasn’t sure how to feel about him in this one, especially in the beginning. He definitely won me over by the end of the book, after baring his soul to Riva and allowing his emotions and personality to come through, albeit slowly. I also liked everyone was wary of him for awhile since it was reasonable after what he did them.

I really enjoyed seeing the group’s powers continue to evolve. The brutality of Riva’s is scary but awesome to see the MC have it (usually something like that is something one of the guys would have but she is the total BA in this story which was great haha). I loved the surprise of Jake’s projectiles and Dom’s new layer to his skills is the deadliest of them all, I can’t wait to see him wield it when he needs to, hopefully to get them out of this predicament again. Drey I think kinda got the raw end of the deal in this one, I mean we know each guys won’t have a ton of airtime in each book but we didnt get much of him in this one, but again thats ok because he got some showcases in previous books. It was time for the others to get some. My heart went out to Zian the most. We found out more about his past and got to see how the trauma still impacts his life and his lover. I could have smashed Clancy for his antics with that. How horrible. I think once Zian is able to be with Riva that is going to make me cry, to see his vulnerabilities and how he has overcome them. Hopefully we get that in book 4!

Now in terms of the story I liked getting to know the other Shadowbloods. I will say I got confused a couple times because there were a bunch, but they had very different powers so it was easier to remember who was who as we got to see them use it more towards the end of the book. I think what kept me from giving it 5 stars mostly is the plot didnt advance as much as it has in this author’s other books. They kept getting captured, so it became repetitive to me. I mean if the captures were spread out in book it wouldn’t have been so bad. But I just rolled my eyes they got recaptured multiple times. I am intrigued by this new baddie though, and I need to know if they are all ok after that cliffy!!

Hopefully book 4’s audio release won’t be too much longer after the ebook releases this week. I need to know what happens next ❤️

Narration was good in this one, the male narrator is one of my favorites and he does these monsters so much justice with his tone and feelings. The female narrator does a good job with all the inner turmoil that Riva has to go through. Especially at the end when she has to level up her powers in order to salvage the mission and save lives. And the hurt with the Zian incidents. They are doing a good job bringing these characters to life. I still wish it was duet but these narrators do well regardless of the characters. Narration is 4.5 stars from me!

Wow, you won't be expecting this.

Captured Fate certainly lives up to its title. Not wanting to give anything away, I would just say. More surprises, some good, some might be good, it's just too soon to tell. There are also hints that there is a lot more to be uncovered. A reunion that has mixed results, followed by an epic escape. I can't wait for book four.

An Urban Fantasy Why Choose Romance

Captured Fate by Eva Chase is an urban fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Adam Gold. This is the third book in the Shadowblood Souls series.

I am absolutely loving this series! I can't help but binge the audiobook in one sitting. I am really enjoying the relationship between Riva, Jacob, Zian, Andreas, Griffin and Dominic. It is extremely messy and complicated, but I can't help but root for them. I can't wait to see how it will continue to progress over the course of the series. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on another amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series Heartless Foe.

Amber and Adam did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you're looking for an urban fantasy romances, why choose romances, or romantic suspense.

Great Series

The twists and turns keep coming! I need the next book ASAP because I have truly become addicted to this series.

Can't Catch A Break!

Captured....again!!
Riva and her guys can't seem to get any sort of break. This installment reunites the shadow bloods with their brother Griffin, whom they all thought they had lost. But it's definitely not the reunion they would have imagined. Zain's tortured past comes into light as well. After the cliffhanger in the last book, I was a bit disappointed that we didn't find out Rollick's true intentions or see anymore of the Shadow kind in this story.
Are the Shadow Bloods ever going to be free??

I'm so invested!

Is this what it's like for Griffin in a crowded room...because I have SO MANY feelings right now!?! I am not okay in the best possible way. My heart ached for the group, melted at the growing relationships between them, and bled for that ending! Give me more of this series (and Z)!!

Damn Now That's a Cliffhanger!

Good book worth the credit. Still pretty slow burn on the romance, def don't get it for the smut. Some surprises that were pretty easy to guess, but a lot of twists that were not! Great character depth and development. At this point in the series I'm def emotionally connected to all the characters. Seriously harsh cliffhanger! Do not get unless you have a credit for the next book!

Good book

Riva and her men are back in a great next book in the series. It is full of action and twists until the end.

What how no wait

These are the words that I thought about in this book. I like how you get to know more about everyone.But Jacob show more of the growth. And we see each of the guys open up a little more. And the way this book opens up had me going wait what no way. But I do have to say this end had me saying no no no no why?

I really don’t know how this series continues to keep up this pace and stay completely engrossing and interesting, but it absolutely does. Riva, Jacob, Dom, Zian, and Andreas have found themselves in captivity once again. But this time, things seems different, maybe even better, and the stakes are definitely changing. But captivity is still captivity, right? As they each continue to try to learn more about and master their talents, unexpected things come to light, not to mention the new player on the field who we know pretty much nothing about at this point. It all lends itself to more mystery, more action, and more intrigue.

Three books in and things just keep getting better. We have new characters come into play, old enemies, new possibly allies, betrayal, loyalty, heartache, love, and oh, so much more spice. For the sake of not spoiling anything, because these twists and turns need to be experienced as you go, I won’t be going into any detail. I will say, however, that there were some pretty incredible shifts in the story, and I was absolutely invested in wanting to know where we’re going and what’s going to happen to the Shadowbloods. Outside of the core characters, we have some new people to contend with - and as I mentioned some are better than others, and sometimes it’s not always as clear as you might think.

But the relationship between Riva and her guys continues to evolve and grow, to strengthen and deepen in ways that will just make them stronger. I am loving how they interact with each other, the dynamics between them all both individually and as a group is fantastic. I am also loving the way we are getting this gradual building of the spice, with each book adding another piece to the puzzle and more skin (ahem) in the game. They all have their demons, their ghosts from the past, to overcome, and they way they help each other, even sometimes just by listening, is so great and really adds to the appeal. And then the cliffhanger…. THE CLIFFHANGER! I am so beyond invested in this series, and I’m loving every second.

And the audiobook narration - yes, I said it with the first two books, and it continues to be completely true. Adam Gold and Amber Lee Connors continue to do a stellar job of bringing these characters, the emotions, and all the action to life. The only way they could be better would be if they were in full duet, but short of that, the narration is absolutely spot on *chef’s kiss*
