Publisher's Summary

In this seventh book in the Gorean Series, beautiful and headstrong Elinor Brinton of Earth finds herself thrust into the savage world of Counter-Earth, also known as Gor. Brinton must relinquish her earthly position as a beautiful, wealthy and powerful woman when she finds herself a part of the harsh Gorean society. She is powerless as a female pleasure slave in the camp of Targo the slave-merchant. Forced to learn the arts of providing pleasure to any man who buys her, Elinor is determined to escape. Nevertheless, she is sold for a high price, and her master is determined to get his money's worth.

very repetative

The character is very inconsistent then repeats herself over and over. The story is not very believable.

very, very sexy and well written no smut here

So well written leaves so much to imagination very well done. Describes the slave master dynamic perfectly. Maybe change name to slave 101.

I hate romance novels! But.....

Where does Captive of Gor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book is not the best I've ever listened to. That said, it was the best in this series that I've listened to so far since the first one.

What did you like best about this story?

The book adds to the previous ones a rich depth. Which, when taken with the others, makes this one of the most comprehensive (in terms of subject matter) and addictive series I've read so far. I have never come back to a book I've read or listened to more than once, save Tolkien. This series, however, has me. I know I will return to at least these first seven multiple times.

What about Lexi Maynard’s performance did you like?

Lexi Maynard was very good at putting the proper emotions, inflections, and depth into her reading. I have been slightly let down a few times in the previous books by the reader expressing a quote in one way and then reading a description of the quote they just said finding it entirely different.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!!!

Any additional comments?

I don't read romance novels, and truly, I would not call this one. It did at some points resemble such but I think it was only because the main character was to be portrayed as an extraordinarily emotional woman going through largely emotional and psychological changes. I would implore others who don't typically read the romance genre to look more deeply at the philosophies or honor and lifestyle in the book rather than taking it as a lewd form of entertainment.

Disappointing experiment in perspective.

I recommend not reading this book. Just disappointing. The book is written in a slaves perspective and is propagandaish.

Really boring

It goes on and I repeating itself over and over. It seems to be written by a 12 year old

poor narration because of pronunciation.

I give this low marks because of narration and the pronunciation of the words that were spoken so well in the other books before this book. Consistent pronunciation to me is imperative because it makes it hard to follow when listening and confusing.

mostly an account of a female slave from earth

This book is focused on exploring a females view of the World of Gor. Captured from earth and thrust into a new life.
