Good, not great

There is nothing glaringly wrong with this book, it's perfectly okay.

The main couples relationship bothers me, it has all the healthy coded buzz words but still seems overly dependent and UNhealthy. The other characters are more caricatures. Predictable and a bit flat.

The plot is interesting but too slow.
It's neither a slice of life, cozy fic or a fantasy adventure and it would benefit by choosing one. It's kind of down the middle which leaves you feeling a bit dissatisfied.
I'm interested enough in the plot to read the next book, but I wouldn't recommend these.

There is a lot of potential. It just feels lacking right now.

I prefer coffee but...

I did not expect to fall in love with this story, but only a couple chapters in I was caught up. the performance is good, there's usually a good amount of difference between the two voices of the characters. the characters feel pretty flushed out and realistic, and the book kept up at a good pace!

conflict resolution

I sincerely appreciate a romance story written by an author that understands the value of communication and conflict resolution. The narrator was fantastic and the story was beautiful from start to finish, can't wait for book 2!

Beautiful Characters and a Fun World

I came into this book looking for a fun cozy read. And I came out the other side in love with the characters and excited for the next installment. The book itself is written from a fun perspective and the narration really brings these wonderfully characters to life. From here on out all my fantasy treason will be served with Tea!!

FANTASTIC!!

Please do not skip this book!! The story is so good, and the MCs…*chef’s kiss*. I love that the MCs get along so well, and are mature enough to have healthy conversations instead of resorting to childish misunderstandings. There’s adventure, action, found families, dragons, griffins, and of course the coziest book/tea shop. I wish I could hop into the story and have a cup of tea and curl up with a good book in there.

And the narrator was excellent! She really found everyone’s unique voice, and truly acted out the story instead of just reading it. I’m going to have to add her to my list of favorite narrators (along with Angela Dawe and Abby Craden, which is saying something).
