Publisher's Summary

What will happen when my secrets are exposed?

I’m lying to my mom about how I make my living.

I’m lying to the Ballsy Boys about my life.

I’m lying to myself about who I am.

I pretend to be Campy, but I am Cameron. But does anyone even know the real me?

When I meet my new roommate, a sexy Texan cowboy and break-out TV star named Jackson, all my lies start to come out. He makes me want to be myself, but I’ve spun so many lies that I don’t even know who I am anymore. The more I fall for him, the more I worry that all my secrets will destroy us before we have a chance to be together.

Good thing Jackson has a stubborn streak and won’t give up so easily.

Campy is the fourth book in the Ballsy Boys Production series. It can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it’s more fun listening to the series in order. Featuring one very confused man who's lucky enough to have a room mate who knows exactly what he wants.

Cowboys do it better

This is one of my favorite stories. Campy is a star for Balksy Boys but what he really wants to do is be a veterinarian. He's stuck doing porn to pay for his Mother's medical expenses and his own and did I mention that he's straight. Enter Jackson. He's moved to LA because he's gotten a role in a new series . He answered Campy's ad for a roommate.
What happens next is an organic friendship that turns to love. Along the way Campy/Cameron figures out he isnt quite straight. Jackson finds his voice and borh find a love that they both have needed for a long time.
Kenneth Obi is the narrator and he does a fantastic job of making Jackson and Cam come alive.

A great strong narrated story

Campy's story is filled with a slow burn and some serious angst, we get to see more about who is as a character.

The narrator manages to convey and put forth the story is such a way that all you want to do is carry on listening.

you will fall in love with Campy and Jasper

this is the first book I've read in this series and I have to tell you I was so impressed with the characters ,you find one who has a quiet strength and is willing to do anything he needs to do to care for his mama and another who finds his strength and is willing to do anything he needs to do to prove how much you can love his man . Kenneth Oby's voice on this one is like so Panty dropping ! I have to get the rest of the series and once you listen to this book if you haven't listened to the rest of the series you will.

Really good

This was a good story, I think the only problem I had was the timeline with another story but when going in backwards order that isn't a surprise. I liked this one more than Pixie and thought it had more depth to it, though Jackson seemed very unruffleable which didn't quite seem like it would be accurate.  I really like Kenneth Obi's narration and the voices he used for the characters.

exceptional as always

campy/Cam and Jackson are a wonderful couple who tug on your heartstrings. the storyline itself is captivating, but add to the fact this is the audio version makes it 100% better. Kenneth's Texas drawl was absolutely adorable.

Obi brings the Ballsy Boys world to life in style

This story is a fun romp. Although I’d only previously enjoyed one other book in the series, it did not stop my enjoyment of this fourth book in the Ballsy Boys series. Cameron/Campy (Cam from now on for ease of simplicity) is so delightfully fractured when we meet him — trying to live two completely separate lives and building both on towers of lies. Jackson is an unfailingly polite southern boy from rural Texas, chasing his dream to the bright lights of Los Angeles.

The two main characters became sight-unseen roommates, then friends. It is quite a slow burn after that, as the two men inch towards the relationship listeners are desperate for them to give into.

Other guys from the Ballsy Boys studio make appearances to satisfy fans of the series. But the true joy in this story is the chemistry between Cam and Jackson. Set amidst the backdrop of two vastly different studios, these men fit together like snug puzzle pieces; filling needs and making each other whole.

You can’t expect to follow a story about an adult entertainment star and not have some spicy sexy times; listeners are not disappointed.

Obi’s range is demonstrated repeatedly as he flips back and forth between a heavy Texan drawl and a California dialect. The characters are all readily recognizable by the distinct voices Obi provides each of them. Neuhold and Phoenix’s world comes to life with Obi’s wonderful narration.

Gay for Pay

Jackson is new and had replied to Cameron's ad for a roommate. He has a part in a new TV show that hired him for his real Texan accent. Jackson wanted to follow his dreams no matter what and decided to do so without his parents knowing.

Cameron isn't happy with his life. He wants to go to Vet school but right now his mother is first priority so he has to work harder at his second job. A job he hopes doesn't come to bite him in the butt. He works at Ballsy Boys one of the best gay studios because it pays better, He has no issue with the sex except for the fact as he is not gay.
Jackson is attracted to Campy right away but when he finds out that Cameron says he isn't gay he is hurt. they become good friends.
This series has such great characters and I missed Heart and Tank so I say you can read out of order though I do recommend reading Rebel first as it does set up the series and introduce most of the guys.
I listened to it in audio and as usual Kenneth Obi gives a great performance. This was my first of his cowboy or western accents and oh my gosh it was great. Jackson just made me swoon. And usually, a man giving a woman voice is just weird but Kenneth made Campy's mom's voice perfect. soft and not squeaky. The action is always great and the sex scenes...oh my!
So we get Gay for Pay, Friends to Lovers, either a gay for you or repressed bi and such a sweet romance.

Fab Book

Such an entertaining read with complex characters who are totally relatable. I loved how steadfast Jackson is, in going after what he wants. Cameron is sweet doing everything he can to support his Mum, but he is drowning in all his secrets.

Ken's narration was fantastic, his nuanced voices, all the characters have such clear distinct own voices and it really brought a additional element to the story. His narration of all the angst and emotions had me reaching for the tissues. Well done fantastic

Another Great Ballsy Boy...

I really liked the fact that Jackson (and also Pixie) could read Cameron so well that they realized he was bisexual before he did. I have no idea how Campy could do gay porn in the first place when in his head, he considered himself straight. Cameron had such a big heart for all that he did for his mom. Great story!

I loved the narration by Kenneth Obi. Damn, Jackson's accent was so spot on and sexy! I loved listening when all the Ballsy Boys were together and you get to hear all the different voices and ranges.

Enjoyable

I have a special love for the Ballsy Boys series. Campy proves that this series has it all. I enjoyed the interaction between Jackson and Campy. I also enjoyed the evolution of this story line. Obi has once again created an enjoyable narration. The growth of Obi really stands out in this newest. Truly a book to enjoy.

as great as the ebook

The story is always full stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook. I can't listen to an audiobook without knowing the book, that's not possible for me.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. Kenneth Obi is one of the top 5 narrators (so far) for me, I can listen without break and have no problems to follow. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often re-listening
it's like an A

3* - it's more then a one-time-listening.
it's like a B

Kenneth Obi has done a brilliant job of bringing these characters to life 💕
Cameron is just so sweet I want to bundle him up and give him a great big hug. As for Jackson, with his southern charm? Well,I don't think I'll go on,in case I spoil the story.
This is the first Audiobook from the Ballsy Boys series I have listened to and it most definitely won't be the last.

Fantastic book made better by narration!

Another winner in this fantastic series from two of my favourite authors! I don't know how they do it but their stories are just so entertaining, drawing you in into it's grasp right from the start meaning that I finally finished at 2.20am :-)
Campy and Jackson finally get their story told and what a roller-coaster it is. Campy has a lot of secrets weighing on his shoulders and his new roommate, Jackson, is just too much of a temptation to ignore. He offers a supportive friendship and his Texan charm doesn't do any harm either. There's a fair bit of dancing around but all of it is done with class and your heart just melts when it comes to the two men together, even just as friends. This story takes place alongside the previous ones so if you are following the series, we read things that have already happened but from Campy or Jackson's POV. I love how integrated all of the Ballsy Boys men are. Though they are not constantly living in each others pockets, they are still relevant in each other's stories and the friendship and support that they all give each other is so important to uplifting our current MC's.
Nora and K.M. are one of my favourite writing teams. The characters are given such endearing qualities, making you fall in love with them and struggles that they are go through are easy to relate to whether it's every day little problems or huge things such as debt, health problems, etc.
Cannot recommend this story and series enough. You can read it as a stand alone but it includes characters/couples from previous books. I cannot wait to read Pixie and Bear's story. Can only imagine the explosions that will happen with them!
Kenneth completely knocks the narration out of the park with this one! Campy and, especially Jackson's, voices match perfectly with how I imagined them while reading the book. Jackson's accent is perfect! You fall in love with him instantly and then all over again when we learn more of his character. All of the drama and emotion is conveyed perfectly and I fell in love with their story all over again <3

Campy and his cowboy

Campy is book 4 in the Ballsy Boys series by K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix and narrated by Kenneth Obi. I have loved listening to every book in this series and Campy is no exception. I loved the journey of Campy and his cowboy, Jackson. As a book, this one was probably my least favorite because I had a hard time connecting to Campy, but so far it may be favorite in audio. Kenneth’s youthful and vulnerable voice for Campy was just awesome and spot on. It was unlike any I had heard him do before and I loved the southern accent on Jackson as well. It really helped me to immerse into their world and also made me connect to the characters in a way that I was unable to do so the first time I read it, which was completely unexpected. In short, the story is great, and the narration is even better.

A Pornstar and his Cowboy

Oh, K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix, you ladies did it once again. You’ve created another incredible Ballsy Boys story that absolutely consumes the read. I’m so in love with this book that I don’t even know where to begin this review! I suppose I should start off by saying that I’ve both read and listened to this novel. The narrator, Kenneth Obi, did a phenomenal job of reading Campy! He brings Cameron and Jackson to life in ways that just reading this book couldn’t do for me. Don’t get me wrong! I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book as soon as it came out. But listening brought another dimension to the characters that just pushed the story from damn good to great.

Cameron, aka Campy, is a Pornstar that works for Bear at the Ballsy Boys porn studio. He’s a hard-working individual that does absolutely everything in his power to provide for his mom who suffers from MS. He works two jobs to pay for his own expenses as well as hers, but he does it because of the love he has for his mom. She was a single parent that raised him as best as she could until it wasn’t possible anymore. Now it’s his turn to return the favor, even if that means putting his dreams of becoming a Vet on hold.

Jackson is a good ol boy from Texas with dreams as big as the state he hails from. He grew up in a conservative small town where being gay wasn’t something that you drew attention to. He wanted to do more with his life than running a ranch and settling down with the perfect woman. He wanted to chase his dream of becoming a Hollywood star. When he is accepted as a lead character for a new TV show called Hill Country, funnily enough, set in Texas, he drops everything to pursue those dreams.

Cameron and Jackson wind up as roommates, become good friends, and eventually, things start to get a little more interesting with their relationship. They both face some pretty difficult challenges, as well as truths, that might make a relationship between them impossible. However, with the help of some sound advice from a certain Pixie, and the determination of a stubborn cowboy, they make some pretty incredible magic happen.

I have to say that I loved this book so much! I really appreciated that Cameron has some serious issues with his sexuality that he had to come to terms with. It wasn’t as black and white as he expected it to be. Cameron’s mother is an amazing woman that I loved from the start. She’s a strong lady that loves everything her son does for her even though she feels guilty about it. Jackson is a rock in the storm that is Cameron’s life. He knows what he wants and he’ll do everything he can to get it. Pixie is a sweetheart that, I feel, played a huge part in the turning point of Cameron’s life. Oh, and let’s not forget to mention the incredible man on man action we get in this book. Talk about smoking hot and incredibly sweet!

If you’re a fan K.M Neuhold, Nora Phoenix, Kenneth Obi, and/or the Ballsy Boys, you have to give this book a read. I don’t often give five-star reviews, but this one definitely earned it.

Campy and Jackson...amazing

Campy was always mysterious in the prior books, and in his own story we get to see back behind the mystery of him. I love his character so much - we really get to see to the heart of him and the angst he goes through.

Jackson is also different from the glimpse we saw of him before - he knows what he wants and he makes sure he goes about things the right way to get it.

Love K.M. Neuhold and Nora Phoenix’s writing, both singly and together and Campy was no exception. I don’t know what it is about Kenneth Obi’s narration that makes him stand out of the crowd of narrators to be but he has something special. I need to read a book before I listen to it and he makes me feel like I’m experiencing it for the first time. Great distinct voices for all characters - and oh my goodness is Jackson’s accent swoon-worthy!!!
