Butterfly Trap kept me listening far past my usual bedtime. It is an intriguing story, very well-written and very well read. I look forward to more by the same author and the same narrator

Stockholm Cinderella

This book had me hooked the first time I listened to it. It is really dark and has a number of twists and turns. If you're on the fence about whether or not this book is for you, just get it, unless content warnings are for you. Without giving too much away, there is a romantic element to this book that gives off a bit of a Cinderella vibe to me. I totally dug it and was creeped out at the same time. Such a thriller! This book was given to me for free at my request, and I provided this voluntary review.

Intriguing and Beautiful

I had to take a couple of days after finishing this novel to put my thoughts and words to it, and I still may not be able to truly articulate my feelings.

This story feels unique, even tho the arch of the story is not. It's not just about a girl held captive and her captor, it's about how we hold ourselves captive. How we give others power over our safety, our physical and mental well-being.

The craft of this story is beautiful. Full of analogies, metaphors, and vivid imagery. This may be a distraction for some, but for me, I soaked it all up, intrigued and floored by some of the comparisons and imagery used that was unexpected. What lost me were some of the plot lines that were too unrealistic to me. Yes, Stockholm Syndrome is real. But how the police treated her; the marriage; her mother... Maybe my hopes for Nikki clouded how I interpreted the plot points.

For the most part, Tori Leigh's narration brought the story to life. But there was one pronunciation that I could NOT handle, and it even took away from enjoying the story. Escape. Instead of eh-skaype or ih-skeype, Leigh continuously pronounced it ex-skape. And in this type of story, that word was read A LOT. My poor ears.

Overall, this was a great novel and I'm excited to read more works by this author!

WOW

This book. OMG I usually don't listen to dark romance, because when they're done right (like this one was) a part of my soul breaks for these characters. I cried, I actually cried. I've listened to a couple of TL fisher books and loved them, but this book really got me, hook, line, and sinker. The narrator did a great job. Her voice was soothing and the emotion she put into it was just enough and not over the top or forced. I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Unique & intriguing story combining various genres

Nikki is a heroine addict and wakes up tied to a bed. Her captor, Isaac, helps her battle her addiction and previous demons that still haunt her, at the same time dealing with his own past demons.

This was a brilliant story. I abolsutely loved it! It was deep and dark, yet emotional and romantic. It was completely intriguing and totally worth it. I could not stop listening. It developed in a completely unpredictable way and was bittersweet. I highly recommend it!

Tori narrated well and had excellent intonation and energy in her performance. She made the story even more enjoyable for me.

Intriguing to the end

This has got to be the most intriguing book that I have read in a long time. The story stays with you long after you’ve finished the book. If a butterfly flaps its wings in Africa will you feel the wind from it in America? Yes it could take years but you will feel it eventually. Another way of putting it is, cause and effect. Because you did this it effects this. What goes around comes around. Raped repeatedly by her stepdad as a child she runs turns to drugs kidnapped to be killed but her strength overcomes and she falls in love with her kidnapper. I won’t say anymore other than listen and you to will be intrigued.

Riveting story!

Gotta say, the Audible sample reeled me in to this thriller but the plot delivered.

I am new to Audible. As a voracious reader for all my years, I wondered how I’d like it. It’s a whole new world. I actually can clean house while reading!
I was surprised how the narration/ narrator did super well in drawing me into the atmosphere. Felt like I was there with her.

Powerful

What a powerful harrowing story. I thoroughly enjoyed this one and did not want to put it down for a moment.

The narrator really put their heart and soul into making the characters come alive. A job well done.
