Eye opening and riveting story

This was a wholly cow am I going to be able to hear this one 😬 Reverse Age Gap, older women vs older man heck yeah then throwing in the past with both characters intertwined and wholly yikes. But I kept going and thank god I did because Sara Cate opened my eyes to these two and how sometimes the past doesn’t determine the future or even the present.

Seriously sexy scenes, torment and disturbing pasts abound in this book and the narration kept me fully engaged. Gideon made Cullen go between determined survival to demented tortured soul but we got to see how the past formed him and how his thoughts changed over time spent with Everly the first person who seemed to care. I’m not going to lie and say that at first I wasn’t shocked by the sexual relationship between the main characters. But Allie Martina’s performance and Sara’s crafted story telling reeled me into the story and thank his for its HEA.

Hmmm.. yummy..

Sara is an amazing kinky writer and this was just as amazing as all the others. Must read and cant wait till the second book comes out with the audio
Allie and Gideon did a great job on the narration.

HOT! HOT! HOT!

I have read this book twice (first as Spitfire) and then when Sara Cate released the full novel as Burn for Me. Both times I have LOVED EVERY FORBIDDEN PART OF IT. The book is ANGSTY AND SO HOT, but the audiobook was scorching. Allie Martina and Gideon Frost really turned the fire up. Their narration of Everly and Callum was exceptional, The two of them made the characters of Everly and Callum so much more powerful - the angst, the tension, the temptation. Now if you have read this book you know it has some very spicy scenes that are not for everyone (or you may discover some unknown kinks). Reading those scenes is one thing, but listening to them - yeah that's a WHOLE DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE. My entire body was on fire. I'm not even going to deny it.

I want to give a shout out to Allie Martina. This is only the second book I have listened to narrated by her, but it most definitely will not be the last. I first listened to Allie when she narrated by favorite book ever "Gravity" also by Sara Cate and she was just fantastic. Both Gravity and Burn for Me are books with unconventional and forbidden love stories. To be able to narrate the female characters in these stories and give them the voice they deserve it is amazing. Allie is definitely someone to look out for.

Hurt into love

This is a story about hurt lots of hurt for Cullen and Everly. Their pasts are entwined and Cullen is looking to hurt Everly. The way he goes about enforcing his hurt is disturbing but Everly seems to like the pain. I enjoyed that this story was an older woman younger man it’s very rare that I read stories from this perspective.

Hot Hot Hot... Read in very cold place

This audio book was amazing I read the ebook a while and loved the audio book the narrator really brought these characters.to life. Gideon was perfect for Cullen. worth the credit definitely recommend

It definitely grows on you…

I really didn’t think I was never going to finish the story and we go on my DNF list.
I was really put off on the way the story started out, and I really loved the male lead character. His level of abuse was over the top and at times very difficult to swallow

However, as the story began to evolve, and the relationship between the female lead in male lead Shifts and changes, my attitude towards the story changed.
I no longer wanted to put the book down. I was anxious to see what would happen, and if they had a happily ever after

The chemistry between these two was off the charts and this book is definitely in the spicier category. All in all I would recommend this book as I did ultimately enjoy 3/4 of it and I guess as for the 1/4 I found difficult to embrace and stomach. That was the authors plan all along.

Good story!

The student/teacher trope is NOT my favorite and I'll admit I don't read it much. I can see where some people would take issue, but I think there are reviews that are unnecessarily harsh. When it's the male role that's in the teacher/older position, we're all about it. It gets swapped and it becomes unacceptable. Y'all are weird for that. Then there are reviews talking about how weak Everly is and how immature Cullen is and it's so unbelievable...welcome to fiction.

You might want to change the genres you read because it doesn't seem this one is for you.

Personally, I liked this story. There was plot without it being plot heavy and it wasn't centered around the smut either. It may have been far fetched at certain points but that's the point. If you want non-fiction you shouldn't be here. I think the narrators did great with this, it helped me get into the story and I enjoyed it.

Terrific Story & Listen🎧Dark,Twisted & Addictive!

Sara Cate never ceases to amaze me with her fabulous writing style and brilliantly creative and maybe even a little twisted mind, ok maybe a lot twisted. Twisted or not, she has a knack for grabbing her readers and/or audiobook listeners’ attention and holding it hostage for her entire book, heck she even has you feeling for the villain of the story and then rooting for him. And that is exactly what happens in “Burn for Me”, this story may not be an easy one and it may even take you out of your comfort zone but hang on because it is so worth the wild and crazy ride. The story starts out giving you a glimpse in a day of Everly West’s life, an investigative journalist who was working on a piece that started when she was a grad student interning at the Florence Times, all the time and work paid off and the trial for George Ayers ended in a conviction and jail time. She knew he had a wife and a son, even saw them in the trial room, saw the hate in the son’s eyes, but she did not think of them much afterwards. The story jumps to the present which is eight years later, she has left her position at the Times to teach journalism at Florence University and this is where her past comes back to haunt her, Cullen Ayers, George Ayers’ son is a student in her class and he does not hold back with his hate for her. He blames her for ruining his life and he is going to make her pay by making her life a living hell. Cullen plays on her every nerve and emotion, so much so she loses her all her facilities and smarts to not only fight him off but fight him back too. ls it bad that I wanted to smack some sense in her head at first, I get her guilt for not doing more for him when he was younger she tried to placate him and redirect his hate but Cullen was blinded by his hate for so long it absorbed him. But things start to turn around, feeling develop and he starts to open his eyes. This is a fantastic enemies to lovers romance, I loved the originality of it and that it not your typical bully romance or typical age gap romance. The story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, some are gut-wrenching too. Sara Cate, thank you for another amazing story & emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Sara Cate chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and story to life, Allie Martina and Gideon Frost are talented narrators and versatile voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that was the right fit for their character’s persona, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Allie Martina played Everly with perfection, grasped all sides of her personality and her vulnerability. Gideon Frost did the same for Cullen, nailing the hate, bringing out his inner turmoil and lightening it up towards the end. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. Both are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
