Worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book just as I have all the other books in the dark forces series. There’s definitely worth the read if this is your first book. I appreciate the fact that there’s substance to the story and not just spice every other chapter. I’d say 🌶️🌶️🌶️ but when the spice hits is oh so good.

Outstanding Audiobook!

I love all of the dark forces books. K.M Moronova has a way of making me anxious in the best ways. I always know I can’t get too comfortable because there’s going to be a twist. I was not at all expecting this twist! I also love the way she ties in all of the dark forces books with each other. IYKYK. Also, the balance between plot and spice is always appreciated 👏. The open ending has me on edge because it makes me curious as to what is to come from the dark forces!

The tension, secrets, and constant push and pull

I’m completely obsessed with the Dark Forces universe by K.M. Moronova. Even though these books can be read as standalones, I definitely recommend reading them in order because it makes the experience so much richer.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning. I finished it in a day because I couldn’t put it down. The tension, secrets, and constant push and pull between the characters kept me fully invested, and that plot twist was so good.
Briar took me on a journey. I was a bit frustrated with her at first, but as her story unfolded, I really grew to understand and appreciate her. Roman, on the other hand, was everything I love in a morally gray character guarded, intense, and so satisfying to watch as he slowly lets his walls down. And yes, I loved the groveling?
The chemistry between them was strong, and while I would’ve loved even more of their emotional buildup, I still really enjoyed their dynamic.
Overall, I loved this book. It was addictive, emotional, and full of twists, and it made me even more invested in this world.

Finally, a dark romance with a plot and amazing characters. Both narrators were excellent highly recommend.
