I Can't Get Enough Of This Series!!!!!!

What made the experience of listening to Brutal Asset the most enjoyable?

As much as I like the world I feel its the characters that make this an enjoyable series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Brutal Asset?

The death a certain character came close to making me cry.

Have you listened to any of James Patrick Cronin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

He has voice the last two books of the series as well as the remain books currently available.and gives the characters a better voice than anything I could think of in my head.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

YES!!!!!

Any additional comments?

This series only gets better with each book, any fan of urban fantasy should at the very least give this series a try.

Great characters

Any additional comments?

Most good books have a great main character and a few interesting secondary characters. I find most of the secondary characters just as interesting as the main. Only complaint, I felt the story stalled a few times, especially Chris at school. Overall though, great narration and a great listen!

Very Enjoyable Listen

This series is a great getaway series. Lots of action and humor. Easy to follow storyline, likeable characters and plenty of characters to hate. I like that you don't have to read (listen) to 3 books to get some closure. I almost gave up after book 2 thinking it might be a wee bit too violent for me, but bought book 3 and I am glad I did. I find myself laughing out loud in public places and getting strange looks, but can't help myself. Overall a very enjoyable series.

AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE

Brutal Asset is another great component of an excellent and fun series. I have read/listened to the first three books without a break and am downloading Duel Nature as soon as I complete this review. I recommend Brutal Asset and the series to anyone who enjoys fast action and suttle humor. The story line and character development are excellent. Although I would prefer one of my favorite narrators, Cronin does a very good job and his narration style fits the book.

I'm So Cool that Even My Weaknesses are Awesome!

First book was good, second slipped, third book has just gone too far. I've seen stories done right with a superhuman person who grows gradually in power. That's not our hero. He goes from special to Superman in 2 books. His weaknesses are his Super hot Vamp GF and having to eat a ton? Seriously?

Consistent and getting better.

Any additional comments?

Again! This is not literary award material and I don't think it's intended to be. If you are looking for mind bending edge of your seat literature there are lots of other tittles from other authors! This is my third listen of the series and I'm getting attached to some of the characters. Some books are meant for reading others for listening. Conroe falls in this last category, fast moving urban phantasy, lots of action, a bit of romance, a dab of funny, a drop of technology, a smidgeon of gunplay, but above all: an easy listen...

Female relationships

The fact that he has this lost puppy routine for all the woman in his life is annoying. I need Lydia and Tanya to die because the whole relationship dynamics is extra annoying

More Chris and Tanya defeating the bad guys

This is the third book in the urban fantasy Demon Accord series. I love that Christian/Chris’ character, despite his unique overwhelming powers, is still sweet, a bit naive, and modest which makes him a likeable hero. Chris is a self-proclaimed demon fighter. Due to the unique abilities he was born with, he all can see demons, remove them from their host or location, and banish them back to hell. He also has been infected with the virus that causes vampires and weres to exist but he’s neither a vampire or a were. He girlfriend is also the strongest and most revered vampire in the world. The book has the same main characters from the first two books with some new characters added into the mix. The story includes what you’d expect from this genre - fighting, dangerous situations, paranormal creatures, evil masterminds, henchmen, loyal friends and family, tragic back stories, mystical coincidences, snark, and laughs. I am enjoying journeying along with Chris on his trek of discovering what new powers he manifests as he continues to fight the powers of evil. James Patrick Cronin continues to be a wonderful narrator for this series. I will definitely keep reading the series.

Series has grown on me

Okay, high art this is not. This is Dresden lite or Monster Hunters with less words and guns... but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. When I’m in the mood for popcorn monster jams with vampires, weres, angels and demons, this series scratches that itch. Yes, this feels almost YA, it’s clumsily written (especially the romance side, yeesh), and there’s zero doubt our MCs live. Not every urban fantasy needs to be dark and full of pain. There’s extremely mild treatment of child abduction and r@pe, plus the usual ripping apart of bodies and constant breaking of bone. Oh, and the occasional F bomb. I will be willing to get the next books when they’re on sale.

Love this series

Loved this series. Its even better how the narrator gives a voice to each character and you really feel all emotions from his voices, joy, sadness, humor, this has lead me to by the rest of this series and lots more books the narrator does.

Excellent

James Patrick Cronin does a fantastic job narrating this whole series. It is easily the best paranormal adventure romance series available. I own all of the series and to date of my review is 20. The books have strong characters with love adventure romance and worthy villains. All types of my favourite types of paranormals are here. It is a smorgasbord of awesome. I know there are lots of books in the series and not one is a dud. They are all long enough to really give you everything you want in a book. I can't recommend them enough.
