Publisher's summary

Best revenge on a cheating man?
A dozen eggs.
A stolen dog.
And a night with his very best friend.

After a two-year struggle to conceive ends with her husband getting another woman pregnant, Grace "Britches Get Stitches" Evans is taking out her frustrations on the roller-derby track. Full-contact violence and absolutely no cheating men? Best divorce-support group ever.

With the help of her teammates, Grace is reclaiming one piece of her broken heart at a time - starting with the family dog, which she lost in the divorce. When the dognapping ends with a call to the police, the best revenge shows up at her door in the form of Officer Jason Bradley. He's hot. He loves animals. And he's her ex-husband's best friend.

Then her ex does the unimaginable, threatening everything she has left as well as the new life she's started to build. Only Grace isn't the woman he kicked to the curb anymore. Derby has taught her a priceless lesson....

How to hit back.

Amazing Author, Fun Story!!

Britches Gets Stiches was such a great story and fun to read. While this was the 2nd book in a series, I had absolutely no issues reading as a stand-alone. Lots of laughs and very heartwarming. I'm newer to Elicia Hyder and haven't been disappointed yet. And with such great characters, I am definitely going to be picking up the first novel, Lights Out Lucy!!

Grace's Story

Oh my goodness, I loved the book when I read it! But, hearing it read to me was oh so much better! I didn't want to stop till I was done hearing about Grace, Body, and the Roller Derby team. A must for all fans of the Music City Rollers Series. No disappointment here.

A fun read that will drag you in!

Britches Get Stitches
(Music City Rollers #2)
by Elicia Hyder
Narrated by: Brittany Pressley
This was a fun read/listen! Not my normal read, no shifters or blood suckers in it unless you count an ex-husband! A struggling gal with a handmade, top of the line, clothing store, she also roller derbies on the side, going through a crushing divorce after seven years but several unusual and unexpected people come into her life. She still has these problems and more but she slowly grows to handle those and more.
It's a coming-of-age for those around 30! 😁
It is written so well you don't question some of the legal stuff. Lol! I fell into the world and enjoyed myself. I grieved, smiled, and found myself not missing shifters or vampires at all!
The narrator was so good! She really made the feelings come out!

So good!!!!

I loved this story so much. Grace has been done dirty by her ex in the worst way. She is working to rebuild her life. She does not always make the best choices and in all honestly it is understandable. Jason was the best man at her wedding and is the hot cop that shows up to talk to her about some of her choices. You can tell throughout the story Jason has carried a torch for Grace for a very long time. This book was very emotional. I cried sad and happy tears with Grace. Got to see more of West and Lucy in this story which I loved, Roller Derby rocks and the friendships were still a huge part of this story. Highly recommend this book and this series.

Funny and engaging

Grace must pick up the pieces of her life after her divorce and she does it with roller derby. Elicia Hyder, the author does an excellent job of capturing the excitement and sisterhood of roller derby. Grace’s struggle of getting over Clay, was alleviated by the rough and tumble sport of roller derby. Sweaty, bruised, and exhausted, Grace skates into a new love life with Officer Jason Bradley (Officer Eye Candy). The story is engaging, funny and loving. Grace has a wonderful support system with the roller derby friends, her employees, and her family. Lucy and West, who appeared in Lights Out Lucy are featured in this story.

Great listen!

I normally shy away from single narration audiobooks, but I must say I was very pleased.

This was my 1st book by both this author and this narrator.

What I loved most about this story is that it was both realistic and totally relatable. I totally understood the bitterness that was consuming her thoughts and could almost see me as the main character.

I was disappointed with the final 2 min of the story.. I felt as detailed as the rest of the story was, the ending was rushed.

Holy Crap!

Wow! Just absolutely wow! I had to pull an all nighter just to finish the book. There was no stopping. Once I started I had to know how it ended! I am blown away by the writing! I cried my eyes out, I laughed until I hurt, and I swooned so hard my heart aches. I want more!!!! I wish I could give this 100 stars!!

Hoping Garrett's Story Is Next

Grace (Britches Gets Stitches) has gone through an extremely emotional divorce from her now ex-husband Clay. Clay even got her house and her dog Bodie. Clay's best friend Jason has always loved her but never approached Grace until now. Infertility, roller derby complete with injuries and business are a strong theme. Lots of strong, well drawn characters. The truth regarding the complexity of feelings from anger to tears, revenge and regrets are realistically handled. Garrett shines as Grace's brother...I'd love to see his lovestory next. Narration well done, especially the children's voices, but the males all sound exactly the same. Enjoyed it!!
