Publisher's Summary

From New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan comes a sexy new contemporary series.

Devin Carr likes his life. He likes his job, his family, the outlook for his future. Then he meets her. Erin. As soon as he sees her, drunk and wearing a sequined dress as her world crashes down around her and she fights to put on a brave face, he knows what he’s been missing. Her.

When Erin Taborn finds her high school sweetheart and husband banging the former head cheerleader of their graduating class at their high school reunion, she tells herself she’ll be fine. She just needs to figure out what fine means. There’s only one problem. Devin. She didn’t plan on him. And for someone who thinks they have all their plans in place, that’s a problem.

One she’ll have to find an answer to if this whole friends-with-benefits thing is going to work. If not, she’ll fail just like with everything else.

Heartfelt Story

This audiobook was narrated so well and on point. Both the narrators were outstanding. This was a first book by this author for me and I thoroughly enjoyed her style of writing. It will definitely not be my last. The storyline was a really good one and nothing like I’ve read or heard before. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it. I loved the characters and the little lol moments in the book. There were some sad parts but not enough to break up tissues which I appreciated since I wanted a light hearted listen. This book had all the touchy feely moments too. Many thanks to the author for a good story with the HEA we all seek and truly want.

Great way to start the series

Great way to start this series - While not Montgomery's they are in-laws and family is very important to this clan as well. Devin meets up with Erin who he knew years ago, on the night she discovered her husband was cheating on her. Time passes and she's now divorced and runs into Devin and well, friends with benefits ensues. I loved this book because the way Jacob Morgan delivers all his lines. His inner monologue was quite funny but its in his delivery. Whether it was some comedy or sadness or dramatic his delivery was wonderful. I love this story of finding your true love, the love you didn't even know you needed, the love you didn't know was missing.

Devin Is Awesome!!

I absolutely loved this one! If you have ever been cheated on, then you know how devastating it can be. It eats away at you and makes you wonder what is wrong with yourself or what you did wrong-even knowing it isn't anything to do with you or anything that you did. And this author wrote this in a way that not only conveys how badly it affects you but the confidence issues that are left in the wake along with the hurt and pain. Erin is this beautiful woman who trusted someone she had known since childhood and was hurt in the most emotional way possible. But she still manages to get up and do what needs doing and is just trying to move on with her life. Devin is this great man who not only stands behind his family when they need it but he will stand with his friends and just be a generally stand up person. And they have this beautiful, heart felt connection that I absolutely loved! Yes, there is a lot of chemistry between them. But what I loved even more than that was the fact that they figured out that not only could they be there as friends for each other but that they could be more and truly trust each other. I loved it!! The narration is excellent! The emotions come across wonderfully and I loved Jacob Morgan's tone of voice! Samantha Cooke and Jacob Morgan did a great job of not only bringing this story to life but conveying how emotional the things that Erin went through made them.

Good enough to continue

This was a pretty hot read, but repetitive wording during inner monologues took me out of the story. Thankfully they were in blocks and I sped it up and powered through them bc everything else was great. The sex scenes were varied and story well-developed. Worth the credit and will get the other books.

Breathless with Her

I feel like I’ve been waiting lifetimes to finally get to see Dimitri’s brothers and sister and find out what’s going on with them. The best way I can describe the intro to Devin & Erin's relationship is that this is a fun twist on not quite a second chance romance since Devin actually dated Erin’s sister for a hot second back in high school. It was great seeing Devin - the mother hen of the group of siblings - get himself all turned inside out over a woman. Carrie Ann has a way of making ex husbands and other characters seem as douchey as possible and I kinda really love it. Every book that brings me back to the Montgomery/ Off shoot of Montgomery world has been a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read, the emotions and real life situations are amazing reads.

Too much whining and angst by the female lead

If it was not for all of the whining and angst by the female lead, this book would only have been 1.5 hours long. Her behavior would have been more appropriate for a teenager.

Jacob saves it

He is amazing as always. I did not care for Samantha at all. No differentiation in characters. The book is quite repetitive at points and the inner monologue goes on and on. Strangely- not strangely- when Jacobs character is rambling, it doesn’t drag as much. Great narration makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE!!!

Great Story & Narration🎧 Captivating & Heartfelt!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it immediately grabbed my attention and held it straight to end. The characters are realistic and easy to relate to. Erin and her husband Nicholas have been together since they were 14 years old, that ended at their H.S reunion, when she finds him pants down and in the former head cheerleaders. What a jerk that guy was, I was glad Erin walked away with out a glance. Upset with what she saw she went straight to the bar. Devin Carr is enjoying his beer when he sees Erin, she is a wreck but she is just want he needs. I liked Devin, a nice guy, he was great for Erin if she would just let him in. Erin had self-worth issues and was insecure, she did not want anymore serious relationships, she could not handle any more heartbreaks. She told Devin and while he wanted more she would take what he could get and was fine with settling with friends with benefits. But when she finds herself getting too attached she pushes him away. Realizing too late she made a huge mistake, can Devin forgive her. I loved how everything plays out in this book, it is well plotted with drama, angst, some heartfelt moments, heartbreaking ones and some hot romance, all leading to a great second chance to live and love. Thank you Carrie Ann Ryan for another great story and emotional rollercoaster ride. Samantha Cook and Jacob Morgan are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring the characters to life give each their own voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. Their portrayal of the characters is spot on, they sounded as I pictured them to. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧
