Just as amazing as the first

It’s a hard feat especially when the standard is high max and charlotte are awesome so happy to hear that update and then got the gem of Stefano and Gabby. The only thing that makes it a 4.8 for me was that Gabbys past didn’t come out sooner. I felt bad for Stefano who is a 10/10 for book boyfriends

Amazing narrators for an amazing story!

I am loving the Reynolds Restoration series!! It’s the small town, light vibes I’ve been wanting. Breaking the Speed Limit follows one of the mechanics, Stefano, and single mom Gabby. These two meet when Gabby’s car has a flat tire and Stefano stops to help her. They butt heads at first, which results in a passionate kiss (and fixed tire), and Gabby’s hope that they never see each other again. BUT OF COURSE, Gabby’s car continues to be crappy and she crosses paths with Stefano again at the mechanic shop that he’s a partner of. Gabby isn’t looking for a relationship of any sort due to a shitty situation she is fleeing from with the father of her son, Theo. However, Stefano isn’t going to take no for an answer, and tries to show her that with the right man and support system, love and family take on a whole new meaning.

This story wasn’t overly complicated which is what I needed. It is a bit instalust/instalove, but it worked. Stefano knew what he wanted and didn’t waste time. I loved how he treated Gabby and her son, and immediately made her feel welcome amongst his Italian family and his found family at the mechanic shop.

Did I mention how I melted any time Stefano spoke Italian? And how hot the smex scenes were? Cause their chemistry was top notch.

Definitely check out this series, and listen to the audio if you can! I have enjoyed how fun this series is and I can’t wait to read the next book!

An adorably sweet, charming and captivating journey to go on with Stefano, Gabby and lets not forget Theo. I loved how Stefano just stepped right up and admitted what he wanted, went for it and treated Gabby and Theo exactly how they deserved to be treated. I enjoyed every second of this story.
Maxine Mitchell and John Lane did a fantastic job bringing these amazing characters to life.

I was one of many who loved Revved to the Maxx, the first book in the series, and hoped there would be more stories in the series. I was so excited when Melanie announced this and the next book.

Breaking the Speed Limit is one of my most anticipated reads of the year and I absolutely loved it. Stefano and Gabby were perfection together. They had an instant connection and fell for each other quickly. It was so sweet seeing him with her son, Theo, too.

The story is well paced and I was hooked from page one. It was fun returning to the Reynolds Restoration world and seeing some favorite characters. I really like Melanie's writing and storytelling styles. She has a knack for writing interesting, relatable characters, swoony romance with a touch of humor, and engaging stories you don't want to put down. The narration was wonderful and I loved getting to listen to this on audio. I cannot wait for the next book!

A MUST READ!!

Oh my heart....I can't even begin to explain what this story did to me, the emotions it evoked from me and when I say this is a book that needs to be read.....YOU NEED TO READ THIS BOOK!!! Fantastic story! The journey. The angst. The heartache. The swoon. Sexy and heart wrenching, with twists and turns that will have you gasping and begging for more. I will read this again just so I can drool over the hero... 

Maxine Mitchell & John Lane do an amazing job portraying the characters, bringing them to life and humanizing them with their emotions, attitude and personality. They do more than giving their characters their voices, they fall into the roles and become the character.

Sweet and Sexy Insta-Love Romance!

If you are a fan of insta-romance stories, Breaking the Speed Limit is a book you will love!

Gabby and Stefano definitely wasted no time in jumping from strangers to something more after Stefano saw her on the side of the road with a flat tire. He was in it much quicker than Gabby was, but that was only because she was running from things in her past, plus she had to worry about her son Theo (who was absolutely adorable!). Stefano had to work a little harder to break down her walls, as Gabby found it hard to trust men......but Stefano truly was a good guy, with an amazing heart. He saw the goodness and beauty in Gabby, and he was so wonderful with Theo.

There was a bit of drama and suspense when her ex tries to come back into the picture, but I loved how the entire garage crew came together to support Gabby and show her that she had a family that would do anything to protect her.

John Lane, if you've never listened to him, you are missing out! He was the perfect choice for Stefano. And Maxine Mitchell - i absolutely LOVE her! Besides the fact that she does one of the best male voices out of the female narrators, listening to her kid voice - AMAZING! It's hard to get a kid's voice that doesn't sound cheesy, but she nailed it when she had to do Theo's voice.

Overall, this was an easy read/listen and a nice addition to the Reynolds Restorations series......and after that teasing of what was happening with Brett and Kelly, I can't wait to read their story next!

Good book

A great instalment in this series. I adore these characters. The story had everything. Drama, suspense and intrigue. Theo was hilarious his character totally made me laugh. Great narration too

Maxine & John balance each other perfectly from performance to different voices for each character. They brought to life my fav characters and Reynolds Restoration world. You will not be disappointed with this listen and the series

One of the reason why I love Melanie's books is that every series is like a welcome hug back. Revved To The Maxx is book 1 of the series and now we are back in Charly is still winding up Maxx 😄

Stefano & Gabby and her beautiful son Theo love story starts with a flat tire and a punch...not a very hard punch. Stefano is a hard man and he has a gaint heart. You can and feel that he wants what Charly and Maxx have and he FINALLY found it 🥰 Stefano and Theo bound is SUPER CUTE especially when he wants to help with the cars 🚗

Gabby and her son Theo are on the run from...no spoilers. She is a brave single mam that will do anything to protect her son. I love Theo he is a brilliant kid and he has wormed his way in everyone's heart ❤️

This book I promise will make you all warm inside 🥰

Great listen

Another fabulous narration from Maxine Mitchell & John Lane. Between them they bring the story to life and heighten the chemistry between the characters.
Book 2 in the Reynolds Restoration series didn't disappoint. Stefano is just as alpha as Maxx, though a little less grouchy. Gabby is a strong, independent woman doing her utmost to keep her son, Theo, safe and bring him up to be everything his father wasn't.
Stefano first meets Gabby when her SUV breaks down at the side of the road. She initially refuses his offer of assistance but lets him help and they end up kissing. Stefano is instantly taken with the strong woman in front of him. Gabby, however, is much more wary of the stranger who offered help without expectation.
Their path is not smooth, Gabby's past haunts her, but when their HEA is their's, it's all the sweeter for the road blocks they've tackled.

Perfect romance with perfect narration

I am a huge fan of Melanie Moreland and adored Revved to the Maxx - the book that was originally a standalone and then turned into the first book of the Reynold’s Renovation series of which this is the second. For those who’ve read that book we get to catch up with Maxx, Charley and some other familiar faces, and get giddy with how life has and hasn’t changed. If you haven’t read the first book - you totally should - but you don’t need to, to understand and enjoy this story as it’s a complete standalone with its own HEA.

Our hero, Stefano, is a mechanic and a big guy to boot. Deliciously big with muscles for days. Don’t you just wish these books had pictures? Anyway, as well as that, he’s a sweet guy and is loyal and dependable to those he loves. From his first meeting with Gabby he’s smitten and I do adore a hero who appreciates a strong woman but still wants to take care of her and pamper her. Stefano was swoon-worthy and sigh-worthy and that’s before you add in John Lane as narrator. I think I hear his voice in my dreams - all deep, a little growly and full of the emotion that the text requires. He even does a decent woman and there’s no confusion when he’s portraying a conversation between a man and woman.

Gabby is a heroine I didn’t have much in common with in regards to her circumstances, but she was so relatable in terms of her character. She was feisty, strong, independent and always going the extra mile to survive but also give her son the best life she possibly can. I loved her stubborn streak but even more, I loved how she so needed a man like Stefano to support her and take care of her. She deserved the love - even if she was reluctant to admit it at first! Maxine Mitchell is Ms Moreland’s go-to female narrator and there’s a solid reason for that; she has the perfect blend of strength and weakness / fear in her voice. She has just the right amount of emotion and I both like and believe her as Gabby - or whatever character she’s voicing. Easy to listen to and does a great job all round.

Stefano and Gabby had an instant connection and that continued throughout the whole book. It was hot, it was steamy, it was funny and times and it was filled with all the emotions we feel between the pair. They were just perfect together and I’m getting giddy again just thinking about them.

We get a whole host of secondary characters in this story - some we met in Revved to the Maxx and some brand new. They were all fantastic, working with the story and not overwhelming it. I’m always a bit wary of kids in stories but Theo was a cutie pie and made me smile - especially his relationship with Stefano. I loved reading his ‘little boy voice’ in the book and was delighted that the narration captured exactly how I thought he sounded.

The cherry on the top of this book was the amazing epilogue which included everything I want to see - and everything I want for my own life: loving spouse, wonderful home, great friends and family and all-round happiness. Happy sighs and glowing hearts! Melanie Moreland has once again delivered a book that I just adored while John and Maxine brought it to life to utter perfection. It had everything that I wanted and need in a romance. The book got 5 stars and a top-pick of 2022, and the audio book follows suit.
