Acerca de esta escucha

His power rules the city—but she rules his heart.

Finn O’Reilly is stern, powerful, and confident. He oversees his hotel and his syndicate with a commanding presence and leadership, knowing any weakness could be used against him.

And he has none. Except Una Murphy. The woman he lost his heart to and still loves, even though she wants nothing to do with him.

Or so she claims.

When her life is in peril, he won’t stop until she is safe and back where she belongs—with him.

Can he rescue her?

Convince her to stay?

Will she be a part of his world, regardless of the danger, knowing she is safer with him than apart?

She is his world.

He simply needs to convince her.

Melanie Moreland can write a phone book and I will read it! Of course it has to be narrated by John Lane and Maxine Mitchell! Finn has taken first place in my Morally gray reads. This is saying a lot since I have read all of Melanie Moreland books, and was completely in love with the Men of the Falls and Men of Hidden Justice series. There is just something special about a man who knows he is in love from the very beginning and has no fear of displaying that love to the heroine.

I will add this book to my to my must re-read and re-listen list!

Finn is the first book in a new dark duet, The Irishmen, by Melanie Moreland. Finn O’Reilly owns several smaller establishments around town and is the boss of a syndicate in the Toronto Area. He runs his area and his business with a fair but iron fist. The only thing he cannot seem to have his way is Una. All Una has in this world currently is his brother Brian, and the stage. After losing her mom when she was little, and her dad a few years back, instead of her older brother taking care of her, she has been the one to take care of him. When a gambling debt helps bring Una back Finn, he will do everything he can not to mess this change up again. But it’s not that easy, he has a lot of walls to break down to show Una taking another chance on him will not go bad this time. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that sweet, RomCom writing Melanie has this dark morally gray in her, but oh boy does she and it is not something you want to miss. Finn is such a perfect Alpha with how fiercely he protects his whole circle of people. He’s someone you want on your side and not be on his bad one. Una is the perfect Queen to Finns King, she knows hard work and actually WANTS to work, she does not want things handed to her. Even though she has had a hard life, and her brother is kind of a jerk, she still loves him and wants to help him. She tries her hardest to keep Finn at arm’s length because of what he does, she lost her father to similar men that Finn deals with. But the more and more he pushes and shows her it can be different she can’t help but fall head over heels. And you will too! Finn and Una are the perfect Yin and Yang to each other.

What makes this story even MORE perfect, is the brilliant narration done by Maxine Mitchell and John Lane. Maxine, as always, portrays these women so well with their headstrong attitude but also voicing their vulnerable side without sounding whiney. And don’t even get me started on her male voice, because I could wax on about that for days and days. Finn is Irish and has a heavy accent, so of course when she read his lines in Unas chapters she did a great Irish accent. As I said, Finn is Irish with that thick accent and let me tell you JOHN DELIVERED!!! He was simply fantastic, and not only did he cover practically the entire book in the accent, but he was also able to carry the conversations with and without seamlessly. The emotion he can put into the characters as well is top notch. Both narrators did amazing job as always, and I am so happy they are the chosen ones for all of Melanies books. It truly makes them the perfect trio.

John Lane’s accent is spot on. This was sooo good. I have not only listened to it once, I have listened to it multiple times, because it is just that good. Finn will captivate you. His love for Una is something not everyone has. She just needed to get past the fact of who he is and what he does besides loves her. She sees a side of him that very few people see. She decides that she would rather be with Finn than the half living that the both of him have been doing since their brief time together previously. No other will love or keep her safe like Finn can.

Second chance romance

𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐧 is the first book in the Irishmen Duet by Melanie Moreland, featuring a spicy and emotional boss/employee, second chance, romance for Finn and Una. Their chemistry was undeniable, but her fear of his job as the Head of the Syndicate was a major obstacle. Finn was an ultimate morally grey hero, ready and willing to burn down the world and anyone in it, if it meant protecting the woman he loves! I love that dark edge of action, the scorching “Touch Her and ☠️” vibes, the angsty tension, the drama, the plot twists, and the surprising emotional moments that had me in my feelings! Una was an amazing character in her own right, with a core of steel, even if she doesn’t realize it. She had such a loving, compassionate heart, even at her own expense. She so deserved someone on her side, willing to put her first, no matter what. I loved the family theme, the bond between Finn and Niall and others in their family, as well as some familiar faces that made me positively giddy! When indulging in the mafia-esque realm, I love the fact that even in the underworld, love can win! Niall was so compelling to watch that I cannot wait to get my hands on his story!

I dove in a second time via the audio, and was blown away by John Lane and Maxine Mitchell!! Their mastery of these amazing characters, their different accents, personalities, emotions and all the excitement of the plot made this one of my favorite narrations! Listening to John Lane argue and banter with himself as both Finn and Niall with unique Irish accents was priceless!!😆 I can’t tell you how excited I am that both of them will be back for 𝘕𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭!

One of the best narrations yet!

I loved this book. Finn and Una's romance was heartachingly beautiful. Sweetness and spice, drama and thrills, humor and heart, twist and action, and an ocean of emotions and feels await you once you dive in. The gripping and moving story flows like silk throughout this book while delivering a heartstring tugging, swoon inspiring, fall head over heels TKO right to your heart. I cannot wait to read Niall's story ASAP. The narration was top-notch and the performances given were excellent.

Melanie is back with her mafia series—and I am so here for it!
If you don’t already know, we first met Aldo and Roman in The Men of the Falls series. Now, Melanie is giving us The Irishmen, and Book One has arrived with a bang. I was lucky enough to receive an ALC of this book and devoured it... then immediately listened to it again.

John Lane and Maxine Mitchell absolutely shine in this audiobook. Their Irish accents brought the characters to life in the best way.

This is Finn and Una’s story—almost an unrequited love, finally getting a second chance. Melanie knows exactly how to tug on your heartstrings. Chapters 19 & 20 I was either holding my breath or clutching my pearls. She fills every page with intensity—love, spice, betrayal, heartbreak, loss, and healing.

Melanie truly knows how to write a story that keeps you fully engaged from start to finish. I’ve always loved a good mafia romance, and this one is no exception. If this is how Book One hits... I know Book Two is going to be even better.

Bring it on.

this was an incredible performance by these two narrators the Irish accent not overly Irish but definitely had that Irish accent and sometimes it was a little thicker than others which is perfect I think somebody who lives in a different country than their home country would have that but the story I I do I have all the feelings I can feel this story had me freaking crying at some parts that I was in public when that happened I was waiting for someone to say something to me because I was balling in public absolutely a wonderful story I highly recommend

incredible

Finn is the ruthless head of an Irish syndicate, but Una is his one weakness—and their second-chance love story had me hooked from page one. He’s possessive, protective, and so fiercely devoted. Their chemistry? Off the charts.

The action, the tension, the lovable side characters—Melanie nailed it again. Even with the darker themes, the romance still hit that sweet, emotional note she’s known for. I wish there was an epilogue, but I’m hoping we’ll see more in Niall and Anna’s book.

And the narration? Incredible. John Lane’s Irish accent was swoony perfection, and Maxine Mitchell brought so much heart. Together, they made the story come alive.

If you love broody Irish mafia kings and steamy, high-stakes romance, don’t miss this one.

I loved this book. I was enchanted with moments of rage. Finn’s love for Una was perfection. He worshiped her. One of my favorite things to read is watching a strong man be a marshmallow for their woman. It makes my heart do a happy dance. I’m still so angry with one of the characters that I am not even going to mention him, but I don’t forgive him.

Maxine Mitchell is the queen of female narration for all the reasons. John Lane was new to me and I loved hearing him. His Irish accent was one point. The way these two blended their voices and pronunciation of words was truly top notch.

Bravo 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I am absolutely loving these mafia romances from Melanie Moreland, and Finn is another amazing story from the author! I love this "darker" side of her storytelling, and I love that she's not afraid to branch out into different types of stories.

This story is about Finn and Una, and I just loved them together. They have a history together, and some crazy hot chemistry, but she is not a fan of his line of work. But when her brother, who works for Finn, gets deep in debt, it starts a chain of events that ultimately brings Una and Finn back together. At first, Una is very hesitant to let Finn back into her life, but when things start to go down, she knows Finn will protect her and do anything to keep her safe. And when he can't, he will do everything in his power to save her.

I was able to listen to this one on audio, and even though John Lane and Maxine Mitchell narrate all of her books, this is probably my favorite of her books in audio. Both of them did so well with the accents, especially going in and out of them, depending on whose POV they were speaking. They both are incredible narrators, and I could listen to them all day.

Definitely looking forward to Niall's book next. I can already see where the story is going to go, and I'm here for it!

This is easily my favorite Melanie Moreland audio!
