Early prophets wrote the Bible over the centuries spanning both BC and AD. The first Bible was written in Hebrew, and many of the chapters bear the names of those who wrote the 66 books. Moses wrote Genesis, David wrote much of Psalms, Solomon wrote the books of Solomon and Ecclesiastes, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John wrote those books. The Hebrew Bible was then translated into Greek and finally into English.
John Wycliffe first translated the entire Bible into English in 13th-century England. William Tyndale translated the Bible into English in 15th-century England. The King James translators used the Tyndale translation in the publishing of the King James Bible in 1611, and it is commonly referred to as the Holy Bible.
Alexander Scourby was the first to record the King James Bible in the early 1950s. Since that time, millions have been sold the world over. Although many have recorded the Bible since then, no one could ever match Scourby's unparalleled reading. The combination of Alexander Scourby reading the King James Bible is an incomparable hearing experience. The Bible verse in Revelation 1-3 seems to apply: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... The books of the Bible were written at different times by different authors over a period of approximately 1,500 years from around 1400BC through 90AD. The Old Testament was written in Biblical Hebrew with the exception of the Books written during "the Chaldean captivity", such as Daniel and Ezra, which were written in "Biblical Aramaic" during the "Chaldean captivity". Many of the Books of the Old Testament bear the names of the Prophets who authored them. Moses compiled the earlier parts of Genesis and directly authored the remaining portion.

This newer edition of the King James Bible published in 1769 is usually preferred by most that read it over the older 1611 version. This 1769 edition is highly sought after due to being more reader/listener friendly than the 1611 since many typos were fixed.... Magnificent recording
I was rather skeptical when looking at the cover, boldly proclaiming Alexander Scourby as “The Greatest Voice Ever Recorded”, but alas, I tell you sincerely that few truer words have ever been spoken. I was entranced from the moment the recording began. Never has the word of God so freely found its way into my lowly soul. Thanks be to God for such a recording. I shall pray that the rest of the Scourby-read Bible arrives expeditiously onto Audible.
