Publisher's summary

Blue Bloods and Backroads is the full-length follow-up to Between a Rock and a Royal and is not intended to be listened to as a stand-alone title.

Love is a four-letter word. So is jerk.

Ruby: The only thing worse than a guy sneaking out in the middle of the night is finding he left a fat stack of cash as his only goodbye. Well, Leo Baxter can take that blue-blood money and whatever connection we had and shove it where the sun don’t shine. It’s time to focus on hunting down my jailbird cousin, saving the family business, and keeping my uncle from taking a one-way trip to crazy town. Luckily, I’ve got some help from an unexpected source. I’m gonna wrap this up, tuck my heart away, and get back to real life...not the fairytale I was stupid enough to start believing in.

Leo: It shouldn’t have come as a surprise. Being used and exploited for my name and position is, unfortunately, not a new experience. But I thought Ruby was different - which is what makes her deception cut so deep. Now it’s time for damage control and for Malcolm and me to go home and attend to our duties. Life is less complicated when you stay on the straight and narrow. Too bad those winding backroads are calling my name, and there’s only one person my heart wants to travel them with.

Perfection!

The first book with such a cliffhanger was maddening. This book made it worthwhile. It was fun to get back together with these characters and see all of the secrets popping out of the woodwork and how even with no secrets to hide there is still drama and excitement and all the FEELS. The narrator does a fabulous job of changing accents from British to Southern without missing a beat and you can feel the frustration, sadness, fear, excitement, and longing from each character. I can still hear their voices in my ear talking and sharing their stories. The ending is perfect, but not final and I love the way it begins to set-up the next romance while still putting the primary focus on Ruby and Leo. Each of them has to come to terms with the misunderstandings and misinformation that was rampant in the first book - which made it hilarious!

Bottom line - this book is a keeper and one that can easily be listened to over and over.

Left me wanting more

I listened to the audio version of this book. I enjoyed book one more than this one. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the ending. I’m assuming we’ll hear more about Leo and Ruby in Malcolm’s book I hope. I don’t feel happy the way it is. I look forward to the next one. Narration was great.

Who wants a knight in shining armor when you can have a prince!

I loved this story. Leo gave me all the feels! I loved Ruby and Leo’s meet cute. After Leo’s identical twin brother makes an a$$ out of himself, Ruby mistakes Leo for him. Ruby is just what responsible and unshakable Leo needs to bring color and joy to his structured life. Malcom is the perfect matchmaker! I do think this should have been 1 book. There was absolutely no reason it needed to split.

Great ending to a great tale!

I'm definitely a sucker for happy endings and I'm pleased with how Leo and Ruby's story works out. the narrator is once again an excellent voice for Sylvie's words and I'm thrilled with the way these two develop a realist relationship. Sylvie - please tell me Malcolm gets his own story?! I can't wait for more!

I want more!!! Please!!!!!

I can’t stress how phenomenal Meagan Moses is! The story was, of course, fantastic, so much so that I do not want to say goodbye to the characters! Ruby is one of my all time favorite females and Leo is completely swoon-worthy.
However, what happens with Mal?!?!?!?!?!?
I NEED to know!! He earned his own cozy spot in my heart!

Joyfully addictive! Even better than the 1st one

This audiobook is the second part of a duet, so you need to listen to them in order. I love the happily ever after for Ruby and Prince Leo, and this story marvelously set the stage for Malcolm’s romance in an upcoming book. I can’t wait! I also love how we got to know Alice. I love the characters. The plot twists were so exciting and the relationship development was so satisfying that I didn’t want to stop listening. The love scenes were steamy but not too frequent. I think that Sylvie Stewart is one of the best rom-com writers out there. I totally recommend this duet to everyone who loves contemporary romance and/or romantic comedies.

The narrator Meagan Moses did a marvelous job. Throughout, she was great at all the North Carolina characters and their accents. She also did a fantastic job with the voices of all the European characters. She always had the right posh English accent for them. The pacing, action scenes, and comic timing were all superb.

I requested and received a free audiocode from the author, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Fantastic RomCom & Series🎧 A Heartfelt Delight!

Sylvie Stewart pens another fantastic romantic comedy, this is the 2nd book in her “Kings of Carolina” series and it picks up right where the 1st book “Between a Rock and a Royal” leaves off. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st book and loved this one even more. Leo and Malcolm left Ruby without a goodbye, they went back to their lives in the Feldsland, Malcolm to his duties and Leo to his job. He can not stop thinking about Ruby, after his brother set him straight he realized the error of his ways and tries to reach out to Ruby. Ruby had gone back to her life as well, working in the garage and still searching for her cousin who jumped bail. Malcolm true to his word sends her Alice to help to find him, Alice is resourceful and tracks him down fairly quickly. I loved how Leo comes back to win Ruby back, also loved how everything played out, the drama, the laughs, the angst, the action and all the heartfelt moments. Sylvie Stewart, thank you for this wonderful series, , I hope hear more from these great characters, Malcolm needs a book, he needs Alice too.

I listened to the Audible edition, Meagan Moses continues to bring these characters and their story to life. She performs the voices of all the characters, does an amazing job with the different accents and switches roles back and forth flawlessly. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧
