Publisher's summary

You can't drown the dead.

When the brutally murdered body of a local geography teacher is discovered at Kilwinnoch’s famous beauty spot, Blood Water Falls, the community is rocked to its core. For DCI Duncan Bone, the killing appears to be an open and shut case. But it’s not long before a sinister clue unleashes dark and deadly forces, blowing the investigation wide open, and putting Bone and his team in grave danger.

With the town baying for blood, and too many suspects and not enough answers, DCI Bone faces not only the toughest case of his career, but the battle of his life to defeat the psychological demons determined to destroy him once and for all.

Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland's Campsie Fells, Blood Water Falls is the second in a series of edge-of-your-seat crime thrillers that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax.

Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J.D. Kirk, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

Get it together Bone!

This is a review part way through the second book in this series. I just have to say Bone better get his PTSD under control and clean up his behavior with his ex wife and Walker. At this point I think he is a right wanker who deserves what he gets. I am listening with Walker in mind as the hero, not him.

Delightfully surprised! More please!!

As a constant seeker of new crime/mystery/thriller authors from all over the world, TG Reid is a wonderful find! Good story lines, strong characters with all the interrelated, robust Scottish diatribes and great humor. I devoured 2 books in 2 days on Audible and really hope there is more to come from this author and his talented crew! I am invested

Ok.

The books in this story are a bit short which makes them seem rushed. Needs more depth.

Disappointing

I liked Bone in Book 1. In Book 2 he came across as petulant, childish, arrogant with male subordinates, lacking judgement and bad tempered. While the story had a gripping opening, the remainder of the book was a let down. I won’t be reading further in the series.

I agree with another reviewer who commented on how the repetitive, he said etc., fragmented the narrative.

Quick Ending

Ending was a bit slap dash. Could of been better. But the rest of the book was really good.

Not as good as book 1

Alice is whiny, everyone blames Duncan, and the story was thin and a little too drawn out

Fantastic - just like book 1

After very much enjoying book 1 I couldn't wait to hear more DCI Bone adventures in book 2, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Like book 1 it was right into the action from the very beginning. This one was also fast paced, and DCI Bone is constantly thrown into 1 situation after another. (I won't go into further detail to avoid spoilers). The story is quite suspenseful and kept me guessing until the very end.

I also like the interaction of his team and learning more about their lives. I found his ex-wife annoying, yet, based on what goes on, I can (at least somewhat) understand why she does what she does. I am looking forward to book 3 and finding out what comes next for DCI Bone.

Fantastic narrator who is perfect for this series

Seriously good story

DCI Bone and his team are back at it in this action packed story! As the second book in the series, it is written as a stand alone with ties to the previous book. Reading the first will give you a better insight into the characters but you will not be left feeling lost if you have not read it yet. DCI Bone is a significantly flawed man that is seriously committed to his job, family, and fellow workmates, these commitments often lead him into chaos as he seeks to solve his cases, for the reader it keeps the action coming! The author adds just enough supporting character development to keep us fully engaged without bogging us down in detail!
The narration is top-notch, with distinct voices for each character and great cadence. Defiantly a great Author / Narrator match! I look forward to the next book in the series!

Good

Book 2 in this series was a great listen. The narrator does a terrific job.

This story leaves us with Bone in a quandary. Since there’s a Book 3 I assume how this will go.
