Publisher's Summary

A blind date. A nervous sorority girl. A mean-spirited fraternity prank. What could go wrong?

As a sorority pledge, there are commandments that Katie Vickery must live by. One: Thou shalt not show up for the party without a date. Two: The guy shall be an athlete, preferably an upperclassman.

Unfortunately, Katie just broke up with her jerkface football player boyfriend. Even worse, her last encounter with him resulted in utter humiliation. She'd rather hide under the bed than attend a party where he'll be.

Yet staying home would mean letting him win.

Enjoying herself was out of the question. She could only hope to get through the evening without her blind date noticing that he was spending the evening with a crazy person.

Andrew Baschnagel is living proof that nice guys don't finish first. He's had his eye on Katie since the moment her long legs waltzed into his art history class. So when her roommate sets Andy up to be Katie's date, he'd be crazy to say no.

Well worth your money! Sweet & well done!

Andrew Isaac Baschnagel. Now THAT'S a name of a guy I'm interested in. *Jew Alert*

I've really enjoyed each and every book in this series, especially the to DIE for The Understatement of the Year, which is expertly narrated, BTW, and Blonde Date was another good one. Again, Saskia Maarleveld does a decent job reading, but there is something about her voice that sounds too old for NA to me. Nick Podehl was awesome again as the slightly dorky and awesome Andy.

What impressed me most about this book was the fab sex-positive message (even when you are doubting yourself- every girl has been there!), and the lovely beta hero male MC. I am totally gaga over a beta man, and a Jewish beta man who plays sports?! Now I'm verklempt!

Short, sweet, and well done, I hope we get more stories out of these characters in the future. Awesome again, Sarina Bowen!

Short and Sweet!

I am so glad we got this little glimpse into Andy! I liked him in book 2 and I loved him in this book. He is a little geeky and a good guy who thought he'd never have a chance with his dream girl. Katie finally realizes that she likes a guy who treats her well and doesn't hesitate to grab a hold with both hands. This is a short story but I liked getting to read about the date that Scarlet set up for these too. He was so nervous it was sweet and funny and she was honest with him which I loved even more.

Another great narration job by Nick Podehl & Saskia Maarleveld!

Silly sex voice

My only problem that I had with this was the silly send voice that that male had during the one sex scene. It took away any sexiness that he had during the scene.

Katie & Andrew

We meet both Andrew and Katie in the book previous. And you can’t help but want more of Andy he is so freaking sweet and to know he gets the girl he has been crushing on.. LOVED it.

The humor in the books was perfect. I loved that I smiled pretty much nonstop throughout this book.

It’s a must read if you’re going to dig in to this series.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

DNF

I hate giving a 3 star review for one of Sarina's books because I usually love her stuff. That said, I just can't listen to Nick anymore (not quite through chapter 1). He reads too fast and his female voices are weird and nasally. I see that he has narrated LOTS of fantasy/sci-fi, but dude...romance is not your jam. I look to my romance novels to chill out and relax. I do not need a frenetic rendition of...anything...to do that.

Quick story.

This is just a little nugget from the Ivy Years universe. I enjoyed the character of Andy, a studious basketball player with boyish charm. And I liked Katie, a sexually confident woman who is just chasing the college experience.

What sort of lacked in this was that it really did feel short. The Dash POV at the end didn’t make much sense, but admittedly I’d have to chalk that up into not knowing fully the series’ universe.

Saskia Maarleveld was amazing, but Nick Podehl felt off for me. Some parts felt overdone with him and his woman tone was not appealing for me.

So delightful

I loved that we got a story around Andrew and Katie's date. These two are from Bridger and Scarlet"s book, The Year We Hid Away. It can be read as a standalone. The audiobook was so fun to listen to with narrators doing a fantastic job bringing the characters to life.

So funny with a bit of a lesson

This is the cutest little story about Andy and Katie's first date and the events surrounding it. It also is a lesson in choices and consequences. The icing on top was the audiobook narrators! They were fantastic in making it the banter between Andy and Katie really great to listen to
Loved the Novella and the audiobook!

Cute

Actually a cute story. The male narrator totally sold the character and I could feel his total infatuation with our heroine. Short and sweet and left me wanting more. Sarina Bowen never disappoints with her writing.

Enjoyable listen

Short but sweet. Andy was surprisingly attractive considering his dorky character, and I think that came down to his confidence about who he was. It’s allllllll about confidence, guys!
