Publisher's Summary

Lindon has a year left.

When his time runs out, he’ll have to fight an opponent that no one believes he can beat. Unless he learns sacred arts the right way, from scratch, he won’t have a chance to win...and even then, the odds are against him.

In the course of their training, he and Yerin travel to the Blackflame Empire, where they fight to master an ancient power left behind by a fallen clan. This is Lindon’s chance to learn a true Path, but there are those who do not wish to see these lost techniques revived.

Success means a chance at life, but failure means death.

In the sacred arts, those who risk the most travel the farthest.

I need more.

I just discovered this series 4 days ago, and I’ve already finished all the books that are currently out. I really need audible to get the next book read. A great series I can’t wait to see were it goes

High Stakes Showdown done perfectly!

This is one of my favorite books of the series and Travis Baldree perfectly encompasses each character in the story in his voice acting. 5/5 Stars! Thank you for another great book Will!

still just half a book

The characters are still flat. They do things that are inconsistent and don't make sense. Everything is about cheating and advancing by any means and any shortcut. The magic system is a complete rip-off of Dakota Krout's Dungeon Born series. I wonder if they are best friends or if Wight is going to get sued for copyright infringement. There is even dungeon-like adventuring in this book (similar to Krout's). I like the book but it's so short. It's not good enough for me to drop money for every short book in the series. There are supposed to be like 12 books in this series. This series isn't worth over $100 bux. This third book seems like a good place to stop. There isn't anything to learn here, just cheap entertainment that's overpriced.

Excellent follow up

This book was filled with subtle humor and creative twists and turns I did not expect. Can’t wait for the next book.

Doesn't get good until the end

I gave this book a shot after the previous booked hooked me enough to keep reading. This one is really slow to develop. There is plenty happening it's just not interesting or exciting though until the last few chapters. The book does end on high note though and should set up the rest of the series well. we will see.

The series just gets better and better!

Congratulations to the author for writing an amazing series. It's very difficult to maintain power scaling throughout storylines but it is done masterfully throughout the whole series. The audio performance was exceptional and really brings you into the moment. Happy to continue the series!

Excellent story, Imaginative, Full of Action

Wow. Really loved this third book in the Cradle series. Moved along nicely with lots of challenges, combat and advancement up the ranks of power. Taking the path of the Blackflame was risky but through it all Lindon remains humble yet fixed on his destiny. I highly recommend this audible book.

A very thrilling sequel.

Book 3 of the series is just as good as the first. There is no lack of momentum, only a rich sequence of interesting storytelling. And props to the ever reliable Travis Baldree to keep the words as attractive as they are intended.
