Publisher's summary

The hot, humid heat, the deep-rooted history, the fresh seafood, and the beautiful vacation spots are some of the well-known qualities of Charleston. But about 20 miles away tucked behind the tall mossy oak trees and deep musky swamps lies Ravenwood. Rich in Gullah Geechee roots, the twists and turns of the back woods are metaphoric of the lives of cousins Anika and Ebony. Being from the same family doesn't always equal the same upbringing.

Debutante Anika followed her dreams of becoming a successful veterinarian in Washington, DC. A love of animals that was instilled in her from a youthful bite of a forbidden fruit that will soon return to spread its seed. However, Ebony got out of the mud. Never knowing her father, she was orphaned right out of high school with the death of her mother. Yet with all her adversities, she managed to establish herself as one of Atlanta's most successful attorneys.

But as usual, death will always bring family back together. And with death, there are almost always secrets. Anika and Ebony find themselves on a journey that takes them from mourning to discovering that it’s “their time” with an ensemble of family and friends: a loving, sweet Geechee grandma, frenemies, and a not-so-endearing family. From Ravenwood’s own King of Rap and his wifey the Mouth of the South to a love that will never die, Bloodstone’s Jinx will have you questioning your own existence.

Follow the creation of a legacy filled with hoodoo magic, supernatural genetics, and life-altering secrets. Will these women be able to withstand the fate bestowed upon them?

Welcome to Enchanted Ravenwood

Narrated in true Gullah Geechee form and fashion, the story of Anika and Ebony is bursting with a mixture of fantasy and folklore.
At the first "Si li vle di ke yo dwe, li dwe f`e" I was transported to the small town of Ravenwood just waiting in anticipation for what was coming next. Expect the unexpected!! Bloodstone's Jinx is an exhilarating roller-coaster ride, so buckle up and hold on tight!!
Definitely looking forward to more of the Black Magic Series!!

Superb!

Characters really draw you in. I was cheering for Ebony and Anika. Ms Estelle can have her own book.

Much Needed Perspective in Sci-Fi Genre

I loved this book. It’s not something I would normally read but I was immediately drawn into it. Being from South Carolina I could relate to the dialect and Gullah-Geechie way of speaking. I was spellbound- literally. The entire series is excellent.

Exceptional!!!

I fell in love with the sound effects with the reading. For a first time narrator, Sage did an amazing job!! Drama Simpson didn't disappoint either. I look forward to hearing more work from the both of them. Great story details, I found myself caught up in the story as if I were there. I can't wait to read more from this duo. Check them out y'all, you won't be disappointed.

Magnetic

I read the book but I had to come back and hear it in action! And it didn’t disappoint. Loved how a narrator had the native language that gave the story a realistic vibe and pull you into the story even more. They did a great job and I was captivated the entire time.
