Publisher's Summary

Evidence of a violent crime in Bree's basement causes police to reopen a cold case. Can she and her K-9 search dog, Samson, stop the killer before he strikes again?

Bree Nicholls has made a name for herself finding missing persons and solving mysteries in the untamed wilderness of Michigan's Upper Peninsula with her faithful search-and-rescue dog, Samson. Yet she still doubts herself, grieving the loss of her husband and longing for her young son's forgiveness.

When a basement remodeling project at her lighthouse home uncovers evidence from a case the Rock Harbor police gave up on long ago, Bree's family comes under attack. Someone wants something from the house...or possibly someone.

Ranger Kade Matthews steps in to help, winning Bree's friendship and making real headway with her son, Davy. But there's still a killer somewhere in Rock Harbor. It will take everything Bree and Samson can do to protect her family from the danger lurking outside the lighthouse door.

Love Colleen's books just not this one.

I've enjoyed several other Colleen Coble titles recently and I've loved them. I struggled with parts of this one and I'm not sure I can put my finger on it. This is the second book in the series and I haven't read the first so I don't know if that would've made a positive impact. To be honest I likely won't read the last two books in the series. I still recommend you try other series by this author.

Keep listening. . .

even though this story had some holes in it, I will continue to listen to this series. I like the characters, even though it is frustrating two wait for her to find the right man, and the plot was interesting. It is hard for me to tell when one character stop speaking and another one starts. The narration could be better.

Beyond a Doubt

I enjoyed this suspense story. There needed to be a whole lot of forgiveness from others as well as oneself. I'm glad Naomi got her happy ever after.
The story evoked many emotions which is why I enjoyed it.

To long to get to the point.

The story was ok took me 1 month to get through it! It leaves you hanging in the end. I kept listening for the closure but not because it was a great book. I’ll give it 5 out of 10.

Page Turner

I enjoyed this book because it had a fast paced plot as well as good character development. Many of the biblical truths woven into the story were very touching both in exhortation and encouragement. Don’t make the mistake that I made and skip the first book. A great “listen”

Good story; not a romance.

The story was a pretty good with some surprising reveals. There is a love interest, but the relationship seems set up for the next book.

Complete and so believable from start to finish

I loved everything about the book. kept me quessing. complete sucked in from the start. I love Colleen's Coble and Devon O'Day. Now I gonna start #3 in this series. Only thing that would be better is to have the hardback for my collection 😍

No no no! Just no on every level

If I’d wanted to receive a sermon I’d go to church! Every chapter is about finding God. I want gritty crime story. Not to be preached to. I won’t buy ANY MORE OF HER BOOKS.
