An abandoned house. A forgotten evil. Home sweet home....

Shane Ryan returns to his hometown of Nashua, and the childhood memories that have haunted him throughout his life. Something sinister prowls the shadows of his family home. And a darkness threatens to destroy all he holds dear.

Twenty years ago, the dark force took Shane's family. They vanished within the halls of their shadowy old house. Now, more relatives have gone missing. But a childhood memory stirs in his mind - a long-forgotten encounter with a sinister presence that has always lurked just out of sight.

To confront this malevolent evil, Shane must peel back the secrets of his former home. His investigation will take him on a journey that challenges everything he thought he knew about himself and his past. But can he banish his demons once and for all?

Or will the darkness consume him….

Amazing series for just one credit!!

How could you not spend a credit on over 65hrs of pure chilling terror?? I've listened to each of these and they all got better and better as the series progressed. The stories are chilling and some of the settings make for an atmospheric read. You go from a house, to a lighthouse, to a town (which was extremely spooky!!), to an even creepier hospital and on and on for a total of 9 different settings, each scarier than the last.

Then we have Shane, poor Shane!! He is such an awesome character. I connected to him right from book 1 but he gets battered and bruised, and is missing pieces of himself, yet he still fights, and that's why I love this series so much. He is just so strong and brave and selfless. He seems to be getting emotionally better and stronger and just all round awesomer ;)

I can't recommend this series enough. This series is one of my favourites. The author never fails to grab my attention and give me chills. Each book is better than the previous ones and each leaves me wanting more. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for Shane next!

Thom Bowers really knows how to capture the essence of the story and knows how to bring the scariness and spookiness to life. He has also portrayed Shane perfectly. He brings across Shane's personality really well and always keeps me entertained.

Don't fall for the great offer!

Like many other people, I purchased this series because it was 1 credit for 66 hours. At the rate I'm going through audiobooks, this seemed perfect and the genre is also something I enjoy. Sounds too good to be true? It is! A total waste of a perfectly good credit. I stopped listening halfway through the 3rd book, because I just couldn't take it anymore.

MINOR SPOILERS!
The premise of the story was exactly the same in the 3 stories: Protagonist enters area with a lot of ghosts. Some good, some neutral, one very bad. Innocent bystanders die. Protagonist banishes very bad ghosts with the help of the good ghosts. The End.

The writing is disconnected and the narrator reads the whole thing in the same intonation, same urgency, same voice, throughout the whole story. I had to concentrate really hard on following along, as my mind kept drifting. I want a story that pulls me in, not one that bores me.

Save your credit and spend it on a good 8-hour book instead.

Supernatural bargain!

Wow. This book bundle is one heck of a killer deal. Not only do you get 9 books for a single credit, you get 9 incredibly enjoyable books for a single credit. Ron Ripley has crafted an excellent series of ghost stories, featuring some great characters and fun, intense, creepy stories. Mr. Ripley keeps putting his main character, Shane Ryan, through a series of meat grinders as with each volume he faces new threats he has to deal with and overcome. The first story is an 'intimate' haunted house tale as Shane returns home to the haunted house he grew up and tries to uncover the truth behind his parents long ago disappearance. In the next volume Shane is lured into investigating a bizarre suicide at an isolated lighthouse, then in the next we shift to yet a new local, a ghost town that is truly haunted. Whether it's his own house, a creepy hospital, or even a prison, again and again poor Shane finds himself in a battle with the supernatural. Each of the tales is incredible entertaining and well worth the time. Thom Bowers does an absolutely fantastic job with the narration. His voice and delivery bring these stories to life. I can't recommend this collection enough.

AMAZING SERIES!

Those who have said it before me were right - this series is an amazing value! 66 hours 26 mins long (notice the 6's haha!), and great stories at that!

I LOVE these types of stories, and am an aspiring horror/paranormal writer myself, and it's all that much better to listen to so many chilling and suspenseful stories!

This series is GREAT. I loved the stories, the writing, and also the narration! It was a blast to listen to, and I'm a definite fan!
Excellent job, definitely recommended!

Just meh

I wish I could have enjoyed this series. I made it to book 2 then gave up before finishing. The writing style annoyed me with the, "so and so said" then "so and so said" and then character two "said". If you listen to the first book, you'll understand my frustration. Potential in the story, but poorly written.

Great value for audiobook junkies

If you have to have an audiobook playing in your ear at all times and like horror stories, this would be a good bet for you. I think all the books together runs something like 60 hours. Be forewarned, there is some graphic violence in the books.

I received the audio books in exchange for my review, so I felt compelled to listen to them back to back. I will tell you that it would probably be best to listen to one or two books at a time and then take a break.

The reader has a pleasant voice and I didn’t mind listening to him for all that time. The stores are pretty good although our alcohol soaked hero does seem to run into more than his fair share of ghosts.

For the price of this collection, I don’t think you can go wrong.

EX-MARINE TURNS GHOST KILLER - FUN READ!

Shane, a child tormented by ghosts, was raised in an extremely haunted home. Though some of the ghosts cared for him as he grew up, his parents were killed by some of the very malicious spirits that also resided there. Not surprisingly, when of age, he escapes to the Marine Corps - where he becomes a powerful, skilled operator who knows no fear. Then he is forced to return to the mansion that holds his deepest childhood fears - and he begins to savagely seek revenge for his parents - and all the others that are lost to vengeful, evil ghosts of all shapes, sizes, and in all imaginative haunting situations.

Something of an 'anti-hero', he's not much to look at - bald, scarred and always carrying a battle-weary facade. But he never backs down from a challenge to eliminate the truly evil, wherever they are....and, it turns out, they are legion.

Using military skills, tactics, salt and iron, he is focused on one thing: Killing ghosts. Until he meets a woman - and an ex-Marine priest-turned-partner - who go into battle with him...with a little help from his ghostly friends from home.

There's enough action here to keep you more than interested - enough character depth to get involved - and enough twists to keep you guessing. With such a unique 'theme', I was sorry to come to the end of the stories - though it was obvious that 'Sean' was ready for a 'rest' - as was the author.

Highly recommended!

creepy and kinda ew

it was a great bundle of stories with a very spooky first story. I really enjoyed listening to all of them but it gets gross in places. the main character is intense but likeable and other characters add a lot to the story line. enjoy.

This is really bad!

Don't do it, don't bother! This book is a boring cliché of every horror story written. I had no sympathy for the main character Shane Ryan or his mother and father. When something tries to drag you into a lake you pack up and get the hell out of dodge, when a ghost beats your son black and blue you don't hang around to find out why!!! They knew the house was haunted but kept living there. I am on part two and I'm not holding out much hope, just really bored, stopped caring about the characters but will stick with it till the end.

A lot of book for one credit

having listened to all nine books at one go I feel as if I have been occupying the world of Shane Ryan for months and now weeks. Although somewhat gory (certainly not for the faint-hearted) I find the stories to be entertaining. Occasionally repetitive I do recommend these books as being a great way to pass the time.

Not scary or original but entertaining enough to pass the time. Well narrated but editing errors are irritating.
