Starting Something Special

I really like how down to earth both men were. You could see Tom struggle with both business and personal issues. I think Denny’s outlook on life while causing a bit of a muddle was helpful for Tom. It is a reminder that hard times call for hard decisions.

Love Despite Being the Str8 B8

Maybe it’s just me that thinks this, but the blurb of this story falls short in conveying the egregious coerciveness of the situation in which Tom finds himself when he makes the decision to earn money by filming a p0rn scene. Does the adult film industry employ such misleading tactics? Readers who are sensitive to storylines involving coercion and manipulation should maybe use extra consideration in their decision to read this book.

That said, the story is good following the point in which Tom forgives Denny his involvement in this deceptive scheme. They get to know each other, totally date without calling it dating, and generally slow-burn their way through miscommunication and misunderstandings to their happily-ever-after.

Seb Yarrick conveys the personalities of Denny and Tom very well. He delivers an enjoyable performance on the whole.

Really good story.

I actually enjoyed this book. It took a few chapters to get use to the Narrator but I ended up loving it and the story line. This is a well thought out piece of fiction. The story progressed nicely and the sex scenes were HOT!

So Hot & Sweet!

At first, I wasn't thrilled with the narrator, but then I adjusted the speed up and it was much better! I didn't know what to expect, but I found this story to be unique in a genre that lends itself to recycled storylines. I won't give any spoilers, but it is definitely well- worth the listen. just be careful driving, or you might just be squirming in your seat!

Fun story, great characters, narrated very well! Really enjoyed listening to this and definitely recommend it!

Didn't Connect with the Characters or Narration

Tom is struggling financially and sees starring in adult films as the solution to save his fledgling business. On his first film set, he meets Denny, a college student and romantic at heart. As the book title implies, it's a bi-awakening for Tom, and the story lives up to its blurb.

I wanted to like this story more than I did. Maybe I've read too many books in this trope but it all felt rather formulaic and I never connected with the characters. I also wasn't a fan of the director's ruse to convince Tom to participate in the first film (he thought it'd be MFM).

The narrator gave a good performance, but I never found a comfortable groove while listening. The tone of his voice just didn't do it for me (a personal thing, obviously), though I do love British accents in general. I received a free review copy of this audio book and have left this honest review voluntarily. [Performance: 3.5 Stars]

Straight bait, I had trouble deciphering the title

This book was narrated by a new to me narrator, Seb Yarrick. He did a great job and I look forward to listening to him narrate in the future.

I love this trope and whenever I see a story where one of the characters is in the adult entertainment business, I snap it right up. This story was a bit of a mixed bag for me. Overall I liked it, but I my irritation with Tom kept growing as the book continued. I'm not sure why Denny gave him the time of day. For a 35 year old man, he was so immature, Denny was definitely the adult in this relationship.

Brings the heat, bi-awakening, relationship angst

Enjoyable Read!

I liked this story quite a lot. There were a few moments that I thought were a little tactless with LGBTQ. For example, the mention of someday people finding a 'Gay Gene' or the fact that Straight men 'catching a liking' for Gay sex. I understand that labels aren't necessary and this story does an admirable job of portraying that in moments.
I enjoyed Denny and Tom's journey of self discovery and love. The side characters were well developed and I found myself invested.
The voice actor was just ok. This is my first time listening to him and I wasn't blown away. There were slight differences in more prominent characters, but very little inflection. It felt more like he was just reading and not experiencing and it came through on the audio.
I hope this review doesn't stop people from, at the very least, reading this book.

I loved the premise of this book, the characters were relatable, likable & sneaky (especially his friend!) The story flowed well & the heat was yummy. The HEA was not easily found, but the best ones aren't. Another job well done all around for this beloved spicy author.
Seb Yarrick performed beautifully, as always, and breathed life & love into the story. Well done!

Denny and Tom were the hottest bi for you I've read in forever! The smut content was fire. There was a lot of angst in this story though, so reader beware. It took me a few chapters to open up to the narrator. His British accent was very appropriate, but to my American ears it started off really harsh. I also had a bit of a hard time following sometimes, as the POV jumped between the men mid scene. I really liked the dynamic between Tom and his ex-wife as well. All of the side characters were wonderful.
