While Arran Adair might have followed the call of wanderlust in his younger years, it isn't the reason he stayed away from Ardnoch. Home now, desperate to put the sins of his past behind him, and rebuild his life in the Scottish Highlands, Arran could never have predicted Eredine Willows. The Ardnoch Estate Pilates instructor is a complicated mystery and one Arran can't help but want to solve.

Eredine has spent the last eight years hiding in Scotland and building walls between her and the people she cares about. Arran is the first Adair who doesn't treat her as if she's fragile and demands a genuine friendship. Yet, the attraction sizzling between them is undeniable. So when she realizes she trusts him, Eredine surprises them both by offering Arran one night of no-strings passion.

Arran knows one night will inevitably lead to a desire for more and he's willing to stay by Eredine's side for as long as it takes to convince her there's something real between them. However, just when Arran thinks they might build a future together, Eredine's past returns to stalk her. And Arran won't just have to battle her demons to keep them together. He'll need to battle his own.

This was an action heavy story with 2 enemies. It was just ok for me. Pretty hot and heavy with a great HEA but the 2 unlikely enemies that are both crazy was a bit too much for me.

A whole lot of action

The story was cute but I couldn't get passed the horrible Female narration for the Scottish characters. She made them sound like they were slow and stupid. It reminded me of that SNL skit The Californians.

One star performance

this might have been a good storyline if I could have concentrated on it without laughing at the overdramatized narration. seriously, who chooses these narrators and does no one listen to them before release? Samantha Young writes pretty good stories but especially in this one the female narrator makes the male brogue sound like the man is dumb as a stump and her overacting at the so-called sexy parts were laughable. someone get serious about narration out there!!

overdramatic much?!

The story was good, I like all of Samantha Young’s books, but I couldn’t get past the female narrator. Based on the description of the heroine she didn’t sound like her and I couldn’t get past it. The male narrator did great. I’ll have to read the book if I do a re-read.

Good story, bad female narrator

I liked the story although it’s getting a little bit repetitive with there always being someone from the past leaving notes, etc. I’m glad they found their happily ever after. I do love those Adair men ❤️
But please, for the love of God, can the narrators and the authors ( i’m not sure who needs to be in on it) get together and decide how these names are going to be pronounced!!! That is seriously annoying!! Though I enjoy the story, a lot of times, each narrator pronouncing the person’s name differently drives me insane!!! Please please please stop it!!!!
