Story
As a woman in today’s world, you know what it’s like to feel pressure on all sides from clashing cultural expectations. How can you stay true to who God has uniquely created you to be in the face of the script you’ve been given? What’s more, how can you stand your ground with grace? The classy confidence you know and love - whether it’s on set at Full House or Fuller House, Dancing with the Stars, The View, or Candace’s Hallmark films - is no act. But it hasn’t come easy. In fact, learning to stay true to herself with grace has been one of the biggest fights of Candace’s life.

In a strange world where Rose McGowan was continually on display, stardom soon became a personal nightmare of constant exposure and sexualization. Rose escaped into the world of her mind, something she had done as a child, and into high-profile relationships. Every detail of her personal life became public, and the realities of an inherently sexist industry emerged with every script, role, public appearance, and magazine cover. The Hollywood machine packaged her as a sexualized bombshell, hijacking her image and identity and marketing them.

Story
In this searing book, Crawford tells the story of coming forward during the state investigation of the elite New England prep school decades after her assault, only to find for the first time evidence that corroborated her memories. Here were depictions of the naïve, hardworking girl she’d been, as well as astonishing proof of an institutional silencing. The slander, innuendo, and lack of adult concern that Crawford had experienced as a student hadn't been imagined; they were the actions of a school that prized its reputation above anything, even a child.

When Susan decided to share her story, she was fully aware of the consequences most women faced for speaking out about harassment prior to the #MeToo era. But, as her inspiring memoir, Whistleblower, reveals, this courageous act was entirely consistent with Susan's young life so far: a life characterized by extraordinary determination, a refusal to accept things as they are, and the desire to do what is good and right. When she was told, after discovering the pervasive culture of sexism, harassment, racism, and abuse at Uber, that she was the problem, she banded together with other women to try to make change.

Fear can save your life. It directs you to avoid that stranger, to leave the room, to call for help. The intuitive message of fear, together with rational principles, can help you to predict and thereby avoid personal violence. In this program Gavin de Becker, America's leading expert on predicting violent behavior, demystifies the apparently random and unpredictable nature of violence and shows you how interpersonal violence can be detected and derailed.

Publisher's Summary
When Gretchen Carlson made the decision to "walk off the set" and speak up about sexual harassment in the workplace, she jumped off a cliff by herself, but it led to a new calling: empowering women to reclaim their power against any injustice.
After the former Miss America, mother of two, and star news anchor stood up and spoke out, women all over the world joined the movement and began to take back their lives, careers, and dignity. Gretchen became the voice for the voiceless. Be Fierce shares Gretchen's experience and powerful stories from the thousands of women who have reached out to her who refuse to submit to intimidation of any kind. Gretchen will also share the wisdom and research of lawyers, psychologists, and other experts helping to confront this problem and advance what has become an international conversation about women refusing to shut up and sit down.

Greatly Needed Life Wisdom
Gretchen not only is a great example to our daughters about being fierce, she's thrived in doing so herself. As a father of 3 wonderful daughters I'm thankful for her willingness to open her life up and share her private life in such a personal way. Note to Gretchen: "Be not weary in well doing, for in due season you will reap if you don't give up." Galatians 6:9. Keep up the movement!!

A very educational book
This book served to provide me the perspective that women have to navigate everyday at work. One hears stories of predators and rapists and considers these extreme outliers but I had never considered that every woman has to navigate things I have never had to about as a man in the workplace. This was a sobering lesson about things I had never stopped to think about deeply enough. I would recommend this book to everyone but most importantly to all men. The issues discussed here are more a men’s issue than a women’s issue. We all have a role to play.

A must read for all parents!
Beautifully written and read. I admire the way you share your Christian faith and the courage you had to take this on. You are humble and authentic. One suggestion I would add to the book since I am the same age as you is the awful campaign by former President Clinton and former candidate Hillary Clinton lodged against all women accusers and especially Paula and Monica. For me as a young lawyer at that time, this was a shocking revelation from the highest office in the land that we must protect young women and all women in the workplace. I realize you could fill a library with books on the powerful political men who have misused their office or title. Thank you for your work in nonprofits and all you do to continue this movement.

A Must Read
Thank you for writing this Gretchen. I have not been a victim of harassment or assault and your book makes me see why this is true. I now realize there have been multiple attempts by colleagues/patients/managers to initiate this type of behavior and I just shut it down. I was never aware of this behavior trait in myself until now. I feel a need to help others be as courageous and bold to stand up for themselves. Thank you for sharing your education on this subject. I am so impressed with the diligence you needed to make your company and the world listen to you about this issue.

Victims stories staffed with political bs
I can't finish the book even for promised extra credit from Amazon. Don't think that it's right place to promote politics in here. Totally irrational approach to the problem of sexual assault. Also it's not the only dissapointment from Dems.
