Exciting Paranormal Fantasy

I enjoyed the second book in "The Legend Of Nyx" series even better than the first one. I liked the characters, and I appreciated their development. It seemed like there was even more action than in the first book. I was entertained by the inclusion of important characters from other series written by the author. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. Kasey Logan's narration was fun and entertaining. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

This review will be primarily focused on the audiobook version.

I’ve made it clear in my other reviews that I’m a (new) fan of this literary universe. I think Nicky is a badass and incredible protagonist. I like that we as readers get to catch up with some of our flavorite characters from other books and series in the universe.

The narration really did it for me with this book. The narrator really is excellent. The combat scenes had my blood pounding. I was hanging onto every word and could not wait to know what was going to happen next.

The two issues I have with the book are relatively minor. The first one is more of a personal problem. There were too many characters with names that begin with D. I have a really hard time with names. I’m 5 or 6 books into this literary universe and I know 3 characters’ names. Nicky, Cain, and Mercy Brown. When characters who all had a name that began with D were talking or being mentioned, I couldn’t follow along due to that problem for me.

The second issue is at the start of chapter 2, the audio is noticeably different. it sounded like a completely different person to me. (Names aren’t the only thing I struggle with. Voices are included among them.) The audio sounded deeper or lower in quality. It’s difficult to describe.

I’m extremely excited to continue with this series. If you enjoyed book 1, you’ll enjoy book 2. If you enjoyed the other series set in this world, this is more of the same.

Good Book

This is a great book and the audiobook was even better for me. It brought the characters to life and was enjoyable to listen too. The narrator did a good job of making the book real for me. I would highly recommend this book and the series. I received this audiobook from a promo code by the author and this is my honest review.

Nicky is only getting better

Nicky is adjusting to life with Devin and running/performing at her club, Nicky's. Life is good, they are hunting vampires, her performances are a hit! Then a finger snapping vampire walks into that club...... and things go Bat Shift Crazy....

I was so excited for where the book took us location why and those we met there. I haven't read all of Theo's previous books (I DO own them tho and will be working through them as soon as my schedule allows. The characters we met, the action we experienced, this is one girl that is SOOO excited for past series and upcoming ones. Dr. Cain, you know.. THAT Cain.... yup.... exciting stuff.

This series is great for a funny, but heartfelt read. YA and up, have a laugh, go 'aww' a few times, and just enjoy the beauty of what comes from Theo's mind. Book 3 can't come soon enough for this lover of Nyx/Nicky and all its characters!

The narrator was fun, I really enjoyed listening.

more mayhem

I love the wide range of characters and their diverse backgrounds. There's a little of everything in this action-packed escapade. I especially like how the characters become even more affirmed in themselves as they continue their adventure.
