Publisher's Summary

When I wake up on the ice planet, I'm scared of everything: This place is cold, silent, and the locals look more like blue devils than aliens. To make matters worse, one of the strangers decides I'm going to be his girlfriend and kidnaps me away from my sister.

I'm completely and utterly alone. What's a girl to do?

Well, this girl escapes. Of course, that means I go from frying pan into the fire, and my situation gets even more dangerous.

Just when I have no hope left, a new hero appears. Sure, he's blue, horned, and has a tail. He's also fierce, protective, makes me purr...and thinks I'm perfect. But is what we have real or just a mating instinct?

Contains mature themes.

Lila & Rokan.

Another great addition, and as with the first book there was a lot of communication problems between the humans and their barbarians. But one thing is universal, if your quie is going off then it is baby making time. I liked the fact that we had some interaction with the Metlak’s, besides them just being vicious. I had hoped that there would be more communications between the species. But it is what it is. Both narrators are good and I look forward to listening to Maddie’s book, even if she is a bit of a bitch in this book, I still feel it will be good.

Book 7 and my favourite so far.

This is book 7 in the ICE PLANET BARBARIAN SERIES and while each story stands alone, I recommend they be read in order.

This is Lila and Rokan’s story and it’s my favourite so far. The depth of love and commitment shown in this novel was beautifully intense. It also explored Metlak society a little, and other delightful discoveries on the planet. Additionally, it delved into the importance of communication and independence in a way I found satisfying. Thanks Ruby Dixon!

Audible narrators Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd do a wonderful job bringing the characters to life.

This series has been a welcome and unexpected boost to my romance listening enjoyment. It just keeps getting better. Not a dull moment.

I recommend this series.

Love Those Blue Aliens

I have read the print copies of this series, but the audible versions make the series come alive. Ruby Dixon's books take the reader (listener) to a fascinating world inhabited by hot blue men.

Super damn cute

Being that this was the first in the series with “new” humans I was a little worried about how I would feel about this pair. And I shouldn’t have been worried because Ruby once again delivered something that was fun and sweet and interesting AF. It gave us new views of the ice planet. It gave us new insight into some of the other things living on the planet. And the total set up for the next book? I’m here for it!

Two Sisters, One Deaf, Resonance, Survival

First of all thank you for having some of these books on Audible Escape! I will be happily enjoying each one on Escape
Roman is with a party to free several more human females..his 6th sense knows something momentous is going to happen, but what? A very kind and patient alien
Lila and her sister Maddie are rescued but Lila’s cochlear implant is gone and she’s deaf. Lila has been dependent on Maddie and that’s her role. The relationship takes some turns and Lila is separated from her and learns to become independent with the help of her mate Roman
Great job by both narrators. Mason has the males down perfect and Hollie has an incredible arsenal of female voices. Wow

Feeling helpless doesn't mean you are.

I love this story. There are a lot of feels. There are also very good lessons about not giving up even when you feel helpless. Rokan is awesome and I would totally have him as my book boyfriend.

Lila wakes up to a cold and silent world. The beings that she saw when she looked around looked like blue devils or demons.
She finds out that they are the locals and not the aliens that took her from her home. Unfortunately, one of the aliens decides that he wants her as his mate and kidnaps Lila. She is completely alone and doesn't know what to do...at first. Lila decides that she has to escape and comes up with a plan. When she escapes, things get worse before they get better. Lila is happy to see Rokan, one of the blue aliens that had seemed kind. He makes her purr and thinks she is perfect. But Lila isn't sure if what they feel is real or a product of their khui's resonating.

There are so many wonderful lessons in this story, and you don't even realize it as you're reading. Lila and Rokan are great together. I loved how Rokan was willing to teach Lila anything she wanted to learn. Lila deciding that she wanted to learn everything so she could take care of herself was very inspiring. Their happy ever after made me happy. I recommend reading this book or listening to it! I read it through Kindle Unlimited and heard it through Audible Escape.

I Need More!!!!!

I am so enjoying this series. Rokan and Lilah are an amazing pair. I love how Rokan is drawn to her immediately and not just after the Khui is given to her. He's so thoughtful that he tries to learn her language and takes her to the Elder's Cave to learn her language from the computer. I really like how dedicated he is to her. I also really like how Lilah's character and personality develops over the time of the book. She goes from being a scared little girl to a strong, somewhat self-sufficient woman. Even with her disability she is determined to learn how to take care of herself. I enjoyed the fact that Rokan was willing to teach her everything instead of acting and treating her like a little woman who belongs in the kitchen with the babies. Well done to the author and narrators on an amazing job. I can't wait for the next book. I think it's going to be about her sister, Maddie. Maddie is going to be tough one, especially since she doesn't want to be stuck on the ice planet.

Tamest and dullest of the series

This series is dedicated to hot, horny, cootie filled alien pairings. Lilac and Rokans story is tepid, sweet, and limp. I found myself fast forwarding just to get to the next book.

So sweet and tender!

OMG!

I loved it Sooo much. I loved how tender Rokan is with Lilah!

Lilah comes out of stasis without her cochlear implants. She's cold and deaf, surrounded by aliens that she thinks look like devils, and with only her sister for help.

Shortly after getting her khui, Hassen kidnaps her and takes her to a clean cave.

She was NOT impressed. She was terrified. She runs away, gets kidnapped by metlaks, rescued by Rokan, resonates to Rokan, inputs ASL into the elders' cave's computer, gets caught in an avalanche with Rokan, rescued by a metal, tends Rokan back to health. And right when she's about to mate....... her angry sister shows up, lol.

They return to the tribal cave and there's a party. A resonance party, plus she brought fruit. And finally, they mate. Maddie is sooooo NOT happy about it but she accepts it eventually.

He is so sweet with her and so accepted even with her disability. It is sooooo sweet.

Five starts and I'll tell you exactly why!

I've lost counts of how many books from this author I've listened to so far and I am always amazed of how much I'm involved in her stories, even the ones I thought inspired me less.
I tried to read other books along the same themes (dragon men and alien romance) from other authors and after a chapter I was ready to puke. I wondered why that was and decided that there is something that sets Ruby apart: she and her stories don't take themselves too seriously. This doesn't mean that the drama is not palpable, Ruby explores interesting and horrifying situations without blinking an eye. What I mean is that her stories are meant to be a moment of blissful fantasy and nothing more, that's the beauty of it. She's not trying to break the Earth open, everything is natural. Also, I'd like to compare reading her books to a foot massage. Amazing!
The reading experience is involving, every time I felt as if I was there. How do you do it, Ruby?
Often I read/listen to a book and feel as I want to throw my phone/volume away because the story is overall contrived and the main characters come across as lame douchebags, the female leads whiny and the males just...turds.
Nothing of that has happened so far with this series. All characters were well framed, with a good balance of flaws and merits and all relatable. I could imagine that person being right next to me, even the blue ones.
Maybe this is not for you or maybe it is. No matter your taste for a specific genre, this author nailed it for hers. Well paced and comprehensible, the language and the narration are well used for their purpose. There's no rushed or dragged moments and although there were few tropes here and there they were masterfully adjusted and nothing felt as if it was forced into place. It was all...natural, as I mentioned before.
A TINY SPOILER HERE! :)

This book has ticked all the boxes for me. Once again, I was involved from beginning to end and I am very pleased. What I really appreciated is that Layla didn't regain her hearing at the end and the author left it open and stressed the fact that the disability wasn't a disability but a unique feature that makes the character truly herself, something that has shaped her journey in a special way and in Rokhon's eyes (not sure about the spelling) she is perfect. Now, that is just beautiful. Throughout the book the fact that she was deaf was something that fascinated me. I actually feel like learning the sign language myself now, I pondered about the fact that I'd like to do that as I listened to the story.
Maybe in her simplicity Ruby has managed to shoot the arrow and hit dead centre. For this, I applaud the author for her cunning, willing or not, to stimulate my interest for something that I never thought about.
Well done Rubes, I actually am spending all my credits on you and I am positive that's a good way to use them.
Looking forward to read the next book!

Nadia

Book 7 & 8 go Hand in Hand

I love the whole series! Fantastic world building that describes how stranded modern women integrate into a tribal culture of tall, hot, and build, matter of fact aliens - all wrapped up with a steamy sexy sweet romance. The characters are all unique throughout the whole series. Some books have more action then others, which focus more on tribal life and personal struggles. I can't even pick one book as my favourite - I'm afraid you'll have to read them all including the spin off series 'Ice Home'. Fantastic male/ female narrators for the audiobook version too.

***Barbarian's Touch***

I enjoyed this book in it digital format but I loved it in audio format. It's amazing the difference when you are reading yourself and listening someone else read it for you. Hollie Jackson and Mason Lloyd are two of the best narrator's out there their voices are incredibly diveresed.
