The story is cute, but too calm for my taste
The main characters are nice and decent. Didn’t find any real thrill through the story... it’s very basic. I found it quite predictable. I won’t be reading other books by this author - it’s not my style.

Just about 4 stars
Considering the subjects covered in this book, it should have grabbed you by the heart and not let go. But instead, it was a little tepid. Still a nice story, but the delivery just lacked something. I’ve not listened to a J.Daniels book for a couple of years, and it might have been because Kate Russell is one of the narrators, but I don’t remember their books sounding quite so much like a Kristen Ashley story before. That style and voice is partly what left me feeling a bit detached I think. It’s not that Kate’s got a bad voice, I guess she seems to portray the characters focusing more on style rather than substance or emotion. So still 4 stars because there were lots of good elements, but would have got more if it had taken me along for the emotional ride.
Also, all the snap chat references are already so dated and the book is only a little more than two years old. It’s all Tiktok nowadays, but give it two years and that will seem dated too. Authors need to be careful what social media they reference.

What a beautiful inspiring story I challenge anyone not to need at least a few tissues. As a child advocate I would love to throttle a few parents in this story.
