Publisher's summary

Swallowing lies has never felt so good.

Reed freaking Rivers. I wouldn’t trust a word out of the arrogant music mogul’s mouth if his gold-plated tongue were notarized. The man with the Midas touch would say anything to get me into his bed, and I know it. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want him to succeed.

Indeed, the moment I laid eyes on Reed while he was speaking at an on-campus event I’d crashed, my body physically ached to feel his golden fingers - and tongue - all over me. Unfortunately, though, I can’t give into my powerful craving to jump Reed’s cocky bones. Not until I’ve figured out my best strategy with him.

The truth is Reed has something I desperately want. Something my heart desires even more than my body craves one night of delicious fun with the yummiest man alive. Reed assumes he’s running this game of seduction. He thinks he’s a thirty-four-year-old big cat on the prowl, and I’m nothing but a blushing twenty-one-year old field mouse with stars in my eyes.

Yeah...no.

As Reed is about to find out, he’s not the only cat on the hunt in this game of cat-and-mouse....

Bad Liar is the first book of the stand-alone Reed Rivers Trilogy. The full trilogy is Bad Liar, Beautiful Liar, and Beloved Liar, to be listened to in that order.

Book One of ONE BOOK-Spit Into Three!!!

The story is good and I really like Lauren Rowe, but I hate that she basically write one book and broke it up into 3 books for increased revenue and I absolutely had when authors due this little trick.........it's so annoying and turns me off from purchasing audiobooks from them in the future. I must have forgotten this about this author and allowed myself to get caught-up with these purchases.

Can’t. Just can’t.

I want to like it but I’m too turned off by the “trilogy” aspect. I don’t plan to read/listen to the rest so I cannot say for sure, but I suspect a two-parter would do the trick. Three is just blatant.
I wanted to hear Reed’s story so the screeching halt to part one is just irritating... The loose ends are all laid out. Just two more episodes to tie em all up. Umm, Nah.
This installment sets Reed’s story up well enough. It’s witty, trashy and all the smutty things, ... and then it’s “too be continued”. It’s good but not good enough. I get the gimmick and all the reasons for it, but there are SO many other fantastic books, SO many other much, much better books that check all those same boxes without the episodic gimmick. I’ll spend my credit on those.

Have to buy 3 books to get to end

I don’t like that I have to get 3 books for one story. I like when a book continues with other people. But it’s like a drag on story that you have to give up and make up your own end. Or buy book 1,2,3. Which is to much for me making the story cost more than 40.00 dollars. I like a book that ends on the last page. This is like the never ending story.

Hot, Hot, Hot!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!! I have read/listened to all of Lauren Rowe's books and was hoping that we would get Reed's story. Lauren did not disappoint. The chemistry between Reed and Georgie is sizzling. The story is fantastic, the banter between these two characters is great....laugh out loud fun! Georgie is a total bad ass. She takes no crap from anyone, what is dished out to her she serves right back. Once I started reading I didn't want to stop. I can't wait for Beautiful Liar.

As to the narration, I really wasn't sure how I would feel with Jacob and Andi narrating instead of Lauren and John. But from the start their was never a doubt that Lauren made an awesome choice with these two. Andi delivers Georgie with stellar confidence and the perfect amount of sass. Reeds character flows from Jacob like a smooth whisky. I could listen to these two read a phone book.

I WAS EXPECTING GOOD.. AND GOT EXCEPTIONAL

Eleven days!! Eleven whole excruciating endless days until euphoria can hopefully be restored into my life once again with the second book in the trilogy.. because this first slice of Reed and Georgina’s lust-filled moves as they outwitted, outsmarted and outmanoeuvred each other was an absolute joy to listen to. The quick-witted verbal sparring was sharp, the hot chemistry that oozed between them sizzled, the sexual tension could be cut with a knife, the build-up as they each scrambled for a foothold on their attraction was delicious and the feisty heated verbal volleyball drew me in. The seared conversations, the lusty looks, the sultry sighs and the fire that flared as soon as these two characters met was very entertaining but alas, at 03.30 in the a.m., I finally got myself under control, stopped bullpooping myself with endless broken promises of “just one more chapter” and begrudgingly turned this fun, witty, sexy and very smart listen off.

Eleven days ‘til I again hear the magic of Andi and Jacob in their perfect portrayals of this feisty couple’s bitter-sweet verbal exchanges as they both cling to the footholds they’ve now tentatively tortuously secured. Both narrators brilliantly brought-to-life the strong-willed characters in this well-paced dual POV audiobook. They drew both character’s lines in the sand and their hard won relationship foundations with ease and built the emotional intrigue, the sweet anticipation and the gleeful hopes that a romance lover longs for when an alpha mega-rich manwhore Music Mogul makes his well-rehearsed moves, gets thrown off his A game pedestal.. and finally meets his match.

Worth a credit? It isn’t just a yes.. it’s a yes - yes - yes. So one-click this magical story. then listen, love and perhaps agree that this may just be Lauren’s best work to date.

Let the lies begin!

I knew when I started this trilogy I would be in for a ride, but what KIND of ride that was, I wasn’t prepared for. Fans familiar with Lauren Rowe know Reed Rivers, but in this first book, we really meet him and discover the young woman that starts circling his orbit (or rather the man circling hers), Georgina.

Age gap (and a secret romance), yes. I know... groan. It’s not my fave trope. Here’s the thing, Georgina is NOT that woman. Yes, she’s young and in some scenes, it shows, but it’s a natural telling that feels more like a generational thing, than a maturity thing. Georgina has been through it. I love how absolutely whip smart she is and she has sass in spades. Oh, how I could relate to her! Usually I can’t relate to a lot of heroines, but her persona I *get*!

The games Reed and Georgina play with each other are infuriating and at the same time, intoxicating. There’s a scene in the book where I just wanted Georgina to walk away from Reed. Throw him away! I was absolutely cool with the book being like that. Yet, I also wanted more. I mean, I also knew we were getting two more books, but that’s the feeling I got in that scene.

This book did feel like act 1 instead of a cliffhanger to me.

I did a read and listen, so the narration by Jacob Morgan and Andi Ardnt is well worth a listen. And a relisten. And a reread.

Wow – yes, yes, yes!

This audiobook was an amazing start to a new trilogy – fantastic narration, great character development, and beyond hot chemistry and banter between Reed and Georgie! Georgie is sassy and tough, Reed is arrogant and just plain hot, and the two of them together are absolute fire. Jacob Morgan and Andi Arndt were perfect as the narrators for this story and really brought the characters and their connection to life. I am so excited for books 2 & 3!

Great Story but

Hate the way it leaves you hanging in the end. You have to purchase the next book to find out what happens

Spontaneous Combustion!!🔥🔥

Omg! This book is on a whole other level of hotness!
The intense chemistry in this book 1 of the much anticipated Reed Rivers Trilogy is like no other. Spitfire meet lighter fluid... BOOM!!
Brilliantly written by Lauren Rowe this is easily one of my favorites, and she’s just getting started.
Georgina’s witty comebacks & devious negotiation tactics shows that the high & mighty music mogul Reed Rivers may have finally met his match.
Reed will not give in, he can’t, it’s not personal, it’s just business. He WILL NOT let this young naive HAF new reporter have her way, unless it’s in his bed!
I have never craved a bad boy as much as I do Reed Rivers.
Trust me by the end of book 1 you’ll be screaming yes, yes, YES!!
The narration was absolutely perfect and well suited for this couple!
I highly recommend this book!

Stopped in the middle?

The story was completely unbelievable but kind of amusing and fun to listen to until the end. It seemed to just stop in the middle of the story for no reason other than to force you to buy a second & third book. Just put the whole darn story in one book!
