A sweeping enemies-to-lovers romantasy about a princess forced into marriage with a ruthless stormwielding commander, where forbidden desire, court intrigue, rebellion, and devastating secrets collide in a high-stakes standalone perfect for fans of Callie Hart, Devney Perry, and Carissa Broadbent.

She was raised to hate him. Now she shares his bed.
Princess Mayah of Tundrayn isn’t allowed to want. Not freedom. Not love. Not even her own future. Instead, she’s spent her life healing others’ pain and swallowing her own. But when her father strikes a fragile alliance with enemy-kingdom Arbinj to crush a rising rebellion, she is bartered into a marriage she didn’t choose for a crown she doesn’t want.

She expects a prince. She gets the Dark Commander.
Zevayr is ruthless, unyielding, and a stormwielder with a reputation soaked in blood. He is everything Mayah was taught to fear. Yet as they race across rebel-torn lands, the less certain she is of where the monster ends and where the man begins.

In Arbinj’s glittering courts, the Rebellion surges and dangerous secrets stir from Mayah’s past—secrets that could shatter her kingdom, and her heart, if she lets them.

The question is not if Mayah will betray, but who: her people, her love, or herself?

I absolutely loved this book. The Audio was amazing for the woman. The male narrator was really cringe and took a lot to look past his voice but the book was great and the female narrator was perfect.

Amazing book

I was glued to my headphones for a day and finished it. I loved this story. I love that it’s a standalone but at this point wouldn’t mind a series.

Fantastic

I read the book and fell in love with the story. I was so excited to listen to the audiobook when it came out and it enhanced the original story with this awesome duet. I hope they do an audiobook for the companion book “Between Sky and Sea” which was just as amazing.

Love This Story!

It was a good story, and I genuinely loved the twist at the end. That said, I don’t think it quite lived up to the BookTok hype for me. I almost wish I’d gone into it without all of the over-the-top reviews and expectations.

If you’re looking for a unique, low-spice fantasy with plenty of action and adventure, I definitely recommend giving it a try. Just do yourself a favor—stop reading reviews and go in with an open mind. Let the story speak for itself and give yourself the chance to form your own opinion.

Good Story, Ignore the Hype

I was so excited for Between Tides and Thunder, but it ended up being just okay for me. My biggest issue was the FMC; I think she was meant to come across as jaded and guarded, but instead she felt whiny, petty, and childish most of the time. What really frustrated me was that she severely betrayed the MMC and even cheated on him after they were married, yet she was somehow outraged when he no longer trusted her and treated her like the traitor she had been. It made it really hard to sympathize with her or root for their relationship.

I listened to the audiobook, which was done in duet narration. The female narrator was phenomenal and carried so much emotion into her performance. Unfortunately, the male narrator just didn't deliver the emotional depth I was expecting, and his performance fell a little flat in comparison.

Overall, I didn't hate it, but it didn't live up to the hype for me.
